There seems to be quite some overlap between grant and Grant. The idea took about half a minute of thought, the creation would takes around a year, and we'd be overjoyed to receive g/Grant...
Perfect! Maybe I can convince my husband that an extension on the eligiblity window is an excellent reason for a third child?
As long as we're eligible to apply to an ERC Starting Grant we cannot be mid-career yet, right?!
Congratulations!
I have to admit that the "mid-career" bit is stressing me out...

I've got expertise on Animal Science, Otology, and Mental Health to offer.
There are ways of becoming unemployed very rapidly ;-)

Yes indeed - a lot of psychology is theoretically unmotivated stamp collecting and that is a problem. Get a theory, it’s good for you! avant.edu.pl/wp-content/u...

Young children learn best when you follow their own interests rather than try to get them to follow yours. This may mean ditching the colourful picture books and giving them a wooden spoon to bang on a pot for hours
THREAD: Cherise Doyley was in her 12th hour of contractions at the hospital when a tablet was brought to her bedside.
On the screen was a Zoom call with a judge and several lawyers and doctors.
She was in court, a nurse told her. The reason? For failing to agree to a C-section.
I will be presenting my poster D109 from 8-10 am this morning. Here is how it would look to a 2-month-old infant from a viewing distance of 1 m! If you are curious about our work, please stop by to learn more.
Ooh, this reminds me of the first time teaching research methods to 30 undergrads, telling them to write a research proposal, and getting 30 files called "proposal.docx" in my mailbox. Often without name in the file either. I've never changed my instructions that fast. 😵💫
It's all so outrageous I cannot stand to even spend a second of thought on it.
Thank you. This post came at the right time.
Only because you call it double-u. If you just switch to double-v it makes sense again...
But...when they say it wasn't AI...
It’s great (derogatory) that you can work very hard to find out something incredibly important, and the main response you will get is a derisive “Gee, I’m shocked.”
Somebody has to ACTUALLY DO THIS WORK! You can’t pursue justice by going “Your honor: I mean, duh.”
TBH the thing that is most sad about the loss of ~2015-2021 era science twitter is the loss of a public square where grad students can see, and participate in, the diversity of expert opinions in the field. It really shaped how I see science.
😄 I've recently started a collaboration with Catania. Strongly recommended too...
I will admit to only having had them at markets in Catalunya, which is not quite the tropics. If I ever find myself in the tropics, I'll give them another go.
Can't offer that, but how about Barcelona? 😄

Agreeing that cantaloupe is questionable, but dragonfruit wins this one in my opinion.
