We follow a refugee Christ.
We worship a God who became flesh on the margins.
When systems separate families, terrorize communities, and take lives, faith demands clarityβnot neutrality.
Abolish ICE.
Put it on your sign.
βThey also will answer, βLord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?β βHe will reply, βTruly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.ββ -Matthewβ¬ β25β¬:β42β¬-β45β¬
βFor I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.β
These words from Jesusβ second coming in Matthew 25 should be the cornerstone of our βend timesβ theology. - @benjamincremer.bsky.social

Outdoor marquee sign at Glendale United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN says βto everyone still daring to follow science we see you stay strongβ
We continue to support our scientists and healthcare professionals as their work continues to be discredited through misinformation that threatens global health. Let us continue to rally behind the scientific community and fight against tactics that are being used to silence and intimidate them.
This milestone is a full-circle moment, celebrating not just a year of ministry, but a year of growth, belonging, and deep connection to a community that has walked with me through transformation and grace.β
Today, I am especially excited to officially join the Glendale familyβon the one-year anniversary of serving as the churchβs Childrenβs Director.
A little about her: βI am the proud mom of two amazing boys β Alder and Rowan β who bring joy, laughter, and plenty of energy to my world. After 13 years of marriage and a recent divorce, I found a safe and affirming space at Glendale to heal and fully embrace my identity as a queer woman.

All of us are excited to join Glendale and be a part of this dynamic, inclusive community.β
We wanted to find a community that shared our heart for social justice, embraced diversity as a strength and priority, and fostered a space where all of our friends and family could come and feel welcome. Glendale has embodied these attributes from the first day we walked through its doors.
A little about them: βWe have been a part of many different church communities throughout our lives and after moving back to Nashville and following the birth of our daughter James in 2023, we began looking for a church to call our home.
Celebrating the baptism of James and welcoming her parents Thomas and Amber into our Glendale family as they joined today.

Today, we mourn. For all victims of violence whose lives are taken away from them at the hands of another person. We also mourn that our government uses the Old Testament practice of βan eye for an eyeβ when superseding Godβs divine timing of life and death through capital punishment.

2/2 I determined from that experience that I would never be part of a group that did not welcome all. I felt very at home the first time I visited Glendale. I feel like this is where I am supposed to be and want to be an active participant in this church family.β π
1/2 From Karen: βI have not been part of any organized religious community in several years after a very bad experience when my best friend βwho happens to be gayβwas drummed out of the church we were then attending at the time.
