Geranium Bill Wallis is getting ready to do its thing - it's absolutely covered in buds. I love this geranium - it'll grow in full shade or in sun, tolerates drought, flowers a long time, and self-seeds (but not too much). A perfect plant!

Thank you, it sounds like Crocus are a good company to order from. And I don't mind stating the obvious! I've never grown from bare root before, and only knew to soak them as I looked up instructions the other day.
Not heard of this one before, thank you!
Thank you!
There were a few yellow ones too, but only one left of these. The rest must have sold. If I had any faith I'd be able to keep it alive it would have come home with me ๐ instead I came home with Digitalis lutea #GardensHour
The little lamb's tail plant (Chiastophyllum oppositifolium) I bought recently is putting on lots of new growth. Apparently it's more tolerant of shade than a lot of other sedums/succulents, so thought I'd give it a go.

My grandad dug out all of these red tulips. Or so he thought. They came back with a vengeance. When we moved in, we got rid of them too. Or so we thought. Needless to say, I've given up and now I embrace them ๐ they're here to stay.

Question! Where does everyone recommend buying perennials online (+ alpines + bulbs)? I've never bought plants online before, as I'm always wary of either the plants not being good quality, or the website being dodgy in some way! Would love some recommendations.

I was VERY tempted by this in the garden centre the other day. A hardy Japanese Calanthe orchid. I've never heard of them, so decided to resist, as I wasn't sure it would like our clay soil. I'd probably have to put it in a pot, and I'm running out of room!

Collage of 7 plants with flowers. A deep red pulsatilla, two different varieties of orange tulips, blue starflower, Apricot Impression tulips, pink bleeding heart, and corydalis blue heron.
Blue, reds, oranges and pinks this week for #SevenOnSunday. The Tulips and Pulsatilla have been the stars of the show ๐งก

White Pasqueflower in a terracotta pot, with multiple flowers facing slightly upwards
Deep red Pasqueflower with yellow centres, in a terracotta pot. Lots of flowers, and a few feathery leaves.
My two litte pasqueflowers - I'm still on the lookout for another two varieties - a pink one, and a salmon one. Unfortunately I only ever see these two and the purple one for sale.

Well, I eventually got round to sowing seeds, and some have now germinated, so that's good. But I have yet to in any way get my head round organising the veg patch. I need to take things out, move things, lay a new path, dig in compost, put up bean canes, the list is endless!

I'm missing these tulips already! They're now a collapsed heap on the ground, with petals flopped in every which direction. I'll have to put some compost on them at some point, to help feed them for next year.

My "behind the shed" bleeding heart is flowering ๐
I've realised a surprising amount of my plants are "behind" things, tucked out of sight. Pulmonaria behind the compost bin, corydalis & bleeding heart behind the shed, chionodoxa behind the conifers ๐

Thank you so much! I'm hoping it'll self-seed, as I've got a big patch of semi-shade that nothing much grows in. I'd happily have these dotted about. Thank you for the help ๐
Oh, thank you so much! This is so helpful! I'm going to go and look at the veg patch and see if I can work out what's what ๐ง
I've just bought a Digitalis lutea, and I'm deciding where to plant it. Yours looks absolutely stunning - can I ask what conditions you gave it? Part shade? Full shade? Any tips welcome!
This is my "established" plant - the one I already know is chicory, but thank you ๐ I just wondered about any seedlings. I've heard they look like dandelions so wondered if I would know how to tell them apart on the veg patch.
An interesting looking plant has appeared on our driveway. Is it prickly lettuce, Lactuca serriola? If so, then that is VERY exciting! I've always wanted great lettuce in the garden, but I'll happily settle for prickly lettuce on the drive. Close enough!

Does anyone have any good tips for telling chicory seedlings from dandelions? My established chicory plant is easily identifiable, but I've heard the seedlings look like dandelions - I don't know if my chicory has even self-seeded, but if it has, I don't want to weed them out by mistake!

A very green #SevenOnSunday with lots of lovely leaves - Cyclamen, Tulips, Corydalis, Chicory, Delosperma and Nipplewort.

Corydalis ๐
I found a pink-flowered corydalis solida for ยฃ1.79 the other day too, so I'm going to try that in the shady part of the garden. Fingers crossed it likes it in our soil ๐ค

My Hellebore (given to me by a friend) has been flowering for months, but is now looking a bit worse for wear. I'll have to shuffle the terracotta pots around to put something else in its place. I'm thinking possibly a little fastigiata yew with alpines underneath.

Thank you! I know we don't have acid soil, so that's a good start hopefully. I'll plant it up in a nice spot and hope for the best.
I also suffer from this affliction ๐ I always end up with too many seedlings, and can't bear to compost any. I end up trying to give them away to whoever will take them.

R.I.P Wilko - I used to love getting seeds from there ๐ข you've got a lovely selection there though
It has been like that this year hasn't it?! One or two days of warmer weather, then another week of cold again. I feel like I'm very behind with gardening jobs, but I dont feel like braving an icy wind to do them!
