Heading back to Rochester after a wonderful day visiting @rcgd-isr.bsky.social and meeting with faculty and students talking about family science! Many thanks to my incredible host Brenda Volling!

NSF grantees and awardees can learn from a *new report* how they might respond to grant changes like termination! 🔬 Like @davidimiller.bsky.social says, prepare now.
I helped edit this with the amazing @isaackamola.bsky.social at AAUP and other great colleagues. Posted w/ other CDAF resources here:
Executive wants to frame the NIH indirects cut as $4B in savings.
But given that NIH returns $2.5 on every $1 investment, this would actually cost US economy a net $6 BILLION (per year!). Not to mention the human costs of wrecking education and research sectors and the communities they serve.
1. Today the NIH director issued a new directive slashing overhead rates to 15%.
I want to provide some context on what that means and why it matters.

Welcome to Rochester!
Thank you for that memory I had forgotten. 💕
I am so sorry to hear about Clancy. He was a beautiful and supportive person… just someone who is so needed in academia. I remember meeting him for the first time in Indianapolis probably 20 years ago. I was awe inspired and he was so down to earth.
Stuff is happening so fast…CNN can’t keep up…spellcheck anyone
Our lab has a fascinating new publication in Development and Psychopathology, focusing on the longitudinal development of executive functioning throughout adolescence and into young adulthood. It is also open-access! Read about it here! bit.ly/4e9wS2c

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.
This is a good time. #BillsMafia

This platform has grown explosively since the election, but growth has slowed down the past few days. Should we be concerned?
No. A temporary plateau was inevitable given the heterogeneity of social media users. From my point of view Bluesky is already over the hump 1/
Some great threads on grant review. I just sat on my first F panel and these ring true! Also if you are submitting a revised application, clearly outline how you have addressed the previous critiques in a way that is easy for the next reviewers to follow.
Welcome!!
