Was zu selten mitgedacht wird: Ein #AfDVerbot würde auch ihren Erzählungen, Verschwörungsmythen, Emotionalisierungen und populistischen Themenbestimmungen die komplette breite Öffentlichkeit nehmen. Und damit ihren wohl besten Werkzeugen, nicht komplett radikalisierte Menschen für sich zu gewinnen.
Das ist auch eine Folge von Rechtspopulismus. Es werden Bedrohungen konstruiert, die in dieser Form gar nicht existieren, und so lange in der Öffentlichkeit u. den Medien wiederholt, bis sie sich verfestigt haben und zur gefühlten Wirklichkeit werden. Siehe gewissen Inhalte der Merz-Rede gestern.
Die CDU geht den Weg des radikalisierten Konservatismus, vor dem @nataschastrobl.bsky.social schon so lange warnt. Eine Querfront mit Faschisten - so lange es gehen „Linke“ (alle, die sich ihrem hierarchisierten Gesellschaftsbild entgegenstellen) geht, ist man dort auch dazu bereit.
In den USA findet gerade eine systematische Löschung von Wissen(schaft) statt und niemand bekommt es mit, weil Deutschland bereits an seinem eigenen Faschismus arbeitet.

Die Zustimmung ist nach Parteipräferenz aufgeschlüsselt und in einem Balkendiagramm dargestellt. ⦁ AfD hat über 50 % Zustimmung ⦁ BSW hat etwa 15 % Zustimmung. ⦁ CDU/CSU hat etwa 5 % Zustimmung. ⦁ FDP hat etwa 5 % Zustimmung. ⦁ SPD hat unter 5 % Zustimmung. ⦁ Grüne hat 0 % Zustimmung. Re-reading it after many years, this book does indeed seem more like a description of current political styles than an analysis of a peripheral phenomenon almost a hundred years ago. imo the cornerstone of #populism research.
Interesting insights on right-wing origins of Sillicon Valley by Becca Lewis, which are also a powerful reminder of how shallow and unoriginal the vast majority of the U.S. right has always been.
