Single vaccine could protect against all coughs, colds and flus, researchers say A Stanford University team have tested their nasal spray vaccine in animals but still need to do human clinical trials.

A single nasal spray vaccine could protect against all coughs, colds & flus, plus bacterial lung infections, & may even ease allergies.

It leaves lung white blood cells on "amber alert" & ready to jump into action no matter what the infection is.

The distribution of speaking rate (SR, in syllables per second) (left) and information rate (IR, in bits per second) (right) within the languages in our database (colored areas; colors represent the language families) and across them (black areas at the top) using a Gaussian kernel density estimate. The black vertical lines spanning the whole plot represent the means (solid lines) ± 1 SD (dashed lines). The short black vertical lines represent the actual data points.

The speed at which languages are spoken is wide, but at the end of the day, the rate at which they transfer information is surprisingly similar (although German does have a long tail towards the slow side). 🧪

Beetle occupancy of male and female cones during thermogenesis. n =
570 beetles in male cones; n = 278 beetles in female cones. The data show that male cones warm up early in the evening while female cones warm up later, and beetle presence follows this same trend.

Wow this is so cool!

Infrared radiation is an ancient pollination signal

The cones of male cycad plants produce heat as night falls to attract beetle pollinators, with cones of female plants warming up 3 hours later. 🤯 They warmed up 3D-printed cones to verify beetle attraction!

The future of flight? First electric aeroplane lands in Denmark The plane can be charged using a standard fast charger for electric cars in just 20 to 40 minutes, the company says. Experts say airports will need to gradually expand charging infrastructures for electric aircraft.

Denmark just flew 5 people over 300 km in an all-electric plane—in under an hour. ⚡✈️ It recharged in 30 mins and emitted zero CO₂. It’s not just a test—it’s step one in Denmark’s bold plan: 100% fossil-free domestic flights by 2030. The skies are changing. #ElectricFlight #Denmark #EVaviation #EVTOL

It eventually flew too far for me to keep tracking it, but it was still pretty close to the ground because it didn't have the skills to fly upwards. I hoped for the best, that's all

These white eared bulbul parents are stressed out with the baby fallen out of the nest! They've been like this for more than half an hour. I can't locate their nest and the baby can only fly so high up the grills before he slips back down

I'd definitely like a link or author names. While I don't love them anywhere near as much as bees, they're such an important part of the ecosystem and they get far too much hate
