We would prefer no Woodcock are shot for so-called 'sport' - it's a red listed species! But we do welcome this long-awaited (4 yrs!) review as a first step & fully expect the shooting season to be shortened. We'll provide consultation guidance shortly.

Great work from great campaigners. If you can afford it, why not make a small donation to help Wild Justice keep up the good work.
This is good news! Well done Wild Justice.
Wish more land owners would have the courage to do this.
Yes it’s in pristine condition. A real beauty.
Watching channel4 Dirty Business Part 1. Parts 2 & 3 on tonight/weds at 21:00
A similar style to the last year's Post Office scandal programs of people fighting to expose the lies & cover up from Thames Water
Well worth watching
The execs who made big bonuses by dumping waste need prosecuting
Lovely blue skies in Sierra de Andújar, but only one very brief sighting of a Lynx. However, Alison did really well to pick it up, and it was the only sighting by anyone, during our stay. Now in Seville enjoying Hoopoes, Ferruginous Duck, Little Bittern, Sardinian Warbler, Wryneck etc in the park.
I've taken action for our wild places!
The Prime Minister is considering weakening environmental protections at a time when nature is already in serious crisis. Speak up today.

Crested Doradito near Karanambu, a Jaguarundi being rehabilitated there, the scarce Guianan Shield endemics Hoary-throated Spinetail & Rio Branco Antbird, a horseback ride seeing Giant Anteater at Waikin & a Sunbittern by the dining room at Wichabai, are just a few of our recent Guyanan highlights.
One week into our Guyana trip and highlights include a very confiding Tamandua, the habituated Black Curassows at Atta as Lodge, great views of Ferruginous-backed Antbird at Turtle Mountain & the spectacular Kaietuer Falls. Great place!
Save the crake for me!
KLM airlines lost Alison’s bag on the way to Guyana. 4 days later still no update, no response, despite repeated requests. Now flown to interior with next to no clothes/ equipment for a 16-day specialist birding trip. Rubbish service. Where’s her bag? Please RT
If you want to go super light & small (with surprisingly good performance) have a look at the TZ99. I’m sold!
Yes, it was just about the only species of interest @iteague.bsky.social and I could find on the sea in SE Cornwall the other day.
I've just called on the UK Government to stop Berwick Bank!
The world's deadliest wind farm for birds shouldn't be funded by public money.

Just back from an impromptu 10-days in Tanzania, with Alison, booked at short notice after our Madagascar holiday was cancelled. 123 species of birds seem, 26 of which were lifers including Crab Plover. Also plenty of mammals. Most time on Zanzibar but also a short visit to Saadani NP. Great hol!
Great White Egret at Dozmary Pool today. Also, at Siblyback Res, adult Yellow-legged Gull & c290 Redwings going east with 3 Fieldfares.

What I of course, I should have also said, is a big thank you to all those involved in organising access to the Dove. I hope people donated generously and a good sum was collected for the IOS Wildlife Trust.
A Wren stands upright on a mossy branch, beak open in full song, small but defiant. Against a soft golden blur, it seems to speak out for nature itself: a clear voice cutting through the noise, refusing to be ignored.
The Government has tabled 67 last-minute amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill.‼️
Rushed through with little scrutiny, it’s a shambolic way to reform the planning system.
It creates confusion, sidelines science and leaves nature dangerously exposed.

A vintage Scilly day on St Agnes on Friday. With the Mourning Dove (a great find by Keith P) in the bag by 9.30am, I enjoyed American Pipit, Spotted Sandpiper, Hoopoe, Turtle Dove & Arctic Warbler. Just like old times!

Mega Ruff count!
That happened a bit quicker than expected but the main body of Langmere at East Wretham Heath is now dry. With these unusual water bodies filled by the water table it's hard to know when it might fill again. Last time it was April when it started filling but could be longer. #NorfolkBirding
Well just about the worst photo I’ve posted here (& that’s saying something) but I’m celebrating my 200th species at my Plym Estuary & Saltram patch (thanks Dave). Part of, but hopefully not the end of, an excellent recent run here.
A good haul!
No worries and no need to feel like that. You were clearly led astray by the technology which has its limitations.
