Graphic titled “Isolation isn't safety” has on the left,a picture of a man who looks really upset sitting in an armchair and another man removing a mobility scooter, saying “we’re removing this for your own good”. Text above this drawing reads “No mobility aid, no accessible routes; no risk of injury while making trips, then below reads worse physical and mental health, worse ability to care for self and others, largely excluded from education/employment, family/friends and society, worse poverty, less able to get help as needed, then in big letters Less Safe. On the right, a group of people are using a wheelchair tandem cycle, a powerchair with a clip-on pram, a power-converted wheelchair towing a suitcase, and a sit-to-stand wheelchair. Above reads suitable mobility aid, accessible routes, risk of being injured while making trips. Below reads better physical and mental health, improved ability to care for self and others, more included in education/employment, with family/friends and society, reduced poverty, more able to get help as needed, then in big letters Safer. At the bottom, the Wheels for Wellbeing logo and signature Kate Ball for WfW
Focusing on reducing one risk & ignoring the bigger picture can cause harm.
Too often Disabled people are discriminated against & hurt by people & organisations who think they're acting to keep us safe. We need to be allowed to judge the risks we take in the same way non-disabled people are.
Graphic has a bunny using a powerchair crossed with a pogo stick bounding over barriers on a path around a lake bordered with daffodils, scattering Easter eggs from a backpack basket. Another bunny is flying a handcycle biplane overhead. The slogan "because egguity matters" is across the top and hashtag EveryJourneyEveryone, with the Wheels for Wellbeing logo.
Egguity Matters!
Wishing everyone a wonderful, barrier-free Easter break and springtime, using whichever mobility aids work best for you.

Graphic titled “You’ve told us... it’s essential to be able to transport children using mobility aids” has a photo of a man with one leg wearing a flat cap riding an e-assist cargo trike away from the camera with a child in the front compartment. They are on a road, going past a playground. The man is saying “I use an electric cargo trike to do most of the things I would otherwise need a car to do. It’s stable enough to take my granddaughter to school plus it’s powerful enough to carry the weekly shopping. My cargo trike gives me more independence, frees up my wife from having to do everything and makes being a grandfather more fun”. At the bottom, hashtag MobilityJustice and the Wheels for Wellbeing logo
Thank you so much to everyone who's shared their mobility aid stories and talked about what works for you - and what isn't working yet. Together, we'll keep working for better mobility options for all Disabled people.
