These look great and cross both my interests (women’s history and wildlife conservation). And I love a paperback.

Suffragette Lady Constance Lytton is most often remembered for disguising herself as working-class activist, ‘Jane Warton’. Learn more about her life on the blog: womenshistorynetwork.org/lady-constan... #WomensHistoryMonth
Fabulous project. Can’t wait to see it progress
An elaborate illuminated certificate signed by Emmeline Pankhurst on 16 September 1908 on behalf of the WSPU. It was presented to Florence Haig, Maud Joachim, Elsie Howey, Mary Philips and Vera Wentworth for their prison sentences and hunger strikes. In a circle at the top are two figures blowing trumpets and a third holding a banner reading "FREEDOM" in front of blue mountains. Below it is the inscription with an elaborate large gold "TO" at the start. The whole background is covered by a floral motif with the suffragettes' symbols of prison bars and a prisoner's arrow.
Emmeline's HCR sheet from her CRO record, including a photograph, the remark "Suffragette", a note of her discharge under the so-called 'Cat and Mouse' Act of 1913, and a list of her convictions (the first of which was on 14 May 1912 at the Old Bailey, nine months for conspiracy).
Sylvia's HCR sheet from her CRO record, including a photograph of her at an easel, the job "Artist", the remark "Suffragette", a note of her discharge under the so-called 'Cat and Mouse' Act of 1913, and a list of her convictions (the first being on 24 October 1906 at Westminster Police Court for "Insulting behaviour", 24 shilling fine or 20 days' imprisonment).
A William Hartley sketch showing four people in the dock at Westminster Police Court in 1912, namely (from left to right) Mabel Tuke, Emmeline Pankhurst and Emmeline and Frederick Pethick-Lawrence. He is in a suit and all three women are in large and/or elaborate hats. The two Emmelines have their hands in muffs. Mabel Tuke was honorary secretary of the WSPU and friend of both Emmelines. The lesser-known Emmeline had founded and edited the publication Votes for Women whilst her barrister husband Frederick published it. The image probably relates to the three's trial for window smashing - the husband and wife had disagreed with that tactic and Frederick had even been expelled from the WSPU for doing so.
We have a 1908 certificate awarded by Emmeline Pankhurst (possibly seized in evidence by the Met), Habitual Criminals Register sheets for her and Sylvia (similar records are at the National Archives) and two courtroom sketches of her. #HeForShe #IWD #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #suffragettes

I will look forward to this one.
Absolutely wonderful talk on Friday in Bridport from @stonelands.bsky.social and @anjanakhatwa.bsky.social highlighting (and rethinking) the human connection to our ancient landscape. Two really inspirational ladies.
An excellent read and now in paperback
As they say in the army, it is important to remember that time spent on reconnaissance is never wasted. I’m sure the research will be useful one day!
Interesting conservation and biz transformation roles available at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust

An image of Sedber Lane, which includes green grass and stone walls synonymous with the Yorkshire Dales. It is a clear winter's day in the image, with grey stone buildings in the background.

Amazing!
yes I think it was designed for the dreaded trunk. Also shivers ...
Say you wanted to get from Woking to Edinburgh Uni with a year's worth of stuff. The bit from Waterloo to KX is a beast. so you drop your stuff off at Woking Station and pick up in Edinburgh Waverley. It can't have been expensive or I would have just got a taxi across London but I don't recall the £
I loved PLA - passenger's luggage in advance
If you are interested in suffragettes this one is for you!
