The only carryover from the show is the existence of Purgatory itself. All characters and situations are brand new. While they might get the occasional mention, no characters from the TV show appear 'on-air'.

Jean's husband will keep working on the antenna, but the mid-air collision caused it to get bent pretty bad, and Elmo's the only pair of extra hands he's got now.

He estimates it'll be Monday before he gets it fixed.
