What an inspirational speaker. So important to also talk about victimized males too! Thank you @davidleegarlock.bsky.social
Senator Duckworth holds Rev. Jesse Jackson’s hand during the Juneteenth March for Us parade in Chicago in 2021.
We shall not see the likes of the great Reverend Jesse Jackson again. He leaves us with a legacy our state will never forget.
Rest in my power, my friend.
April is #SecondChanceMonth. What we need to really think about is it being #FairChanceMonth!!!!
Not everyone had a FIRST CHANCE, while others have needed more than a Second Chance because of the way the system is set up!!!!
Ppl coming home from prison need opportunities and support
Professor @buchhandler.bsky.social and the Criminal Law Society welcomed @davidleegarlock.bsky.social for “From Abused to Accused.” A survivor of long-term abuse, he later became a defendant after killing his abuser, sharing insight for prosecutors & defenders.

ICE has kept a disabled double amputee prisoner for over 14 months.
Rodney Taylor has been denied access to his prosthetic legs.
Forced to crawl across dirty floors to access food.
Placed in solitary.
Denied medical accommodations.
They’re killing him & he needs the community to make noise!
So a CBS Evening News reporter actually did a pretty solid breakdown of the ICE murder video, talking to a former agent who details all the ways Ross messed up. And yet: It didn’t air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTube—and it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...
After the House refused to display it, the Senate unanimously agreed to hang a plaque honoring the officers who protected the Capitol on Jan. 6. It only took five years. www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...
Post from Amanda Gorman’s Instagram that says amandascgorman Minneapolis, Minnesota For Renee Nicole Good Killed by ICE. on January 7, 2026 by Amanda Gorman They say she is no more, That there her absence roars, Blood-blown like a rose. Iced wheels flinched & froze. Now, bare riot of candles, Dark fury of flowers, Pure howling of hymns. If for us she arose, Somewhere, in the pitched deep of our grief, Crouches our power, The howl where we begin, Straining upon the edge of the crooked crater Of the worst of what we've been. Change is only possible, & all the greater, When the labour & bitter anger of our neighbors Is moved by the love * better angels of our nature.
Amanda Gorman wrote this poem for Renee Good and that’s it for me tonight.
Philadelphia in candlelight.
A city paused.
Love showed up for Renee Nicole Good.
13 yrs ago, #BryanStevenson, helped get my parole transferred from Alabama to PA to attend college. This one act changed my whole life, the work I have done and the impact I am having!!!
New York Attorney General Letitia James stands outdoors in sunlight, looking composed. Text on the image reports that a grand jury has declined for the second time to indict her.
Time to admit they don't have a case. This is just embarrassing for the “Justice” Department under Pam Bondi.
Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva has still not been sworn in four weeks after her win. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is suing House Speaker Mike Johnson, citing “taxation without representation.”
Had a great time working with #AnthonyRayHinton yesterday and @eji.org Anti Hunger work.

I have to live with that every day.
I believe people can change and should be given a Second Chance. I live my life to give back and to help others.
I respect your thoughts, but have different beliefs about that.
My brother and I went to prison for taking the life of our abuser. I spent 13 1/2 of a 25 year sentence in Alabama. Made parole and have been pardoned.
F*ck‼️
Fort Bliss Army base used for a WWII Japanese internment is now the nation's largest ICE detention center.
Gavin Newsom’s Twitter account is up 450% in followers since June and the number of people searching for him in Google is up to 1300%.
Maga is freaking out !
If you’ve never been in that situation where you feel like you life is constantly at stake- then you don’t understand their desperation.
I don’t condone murder- but I can understand being pushed to this state. My brother and I were there.
I never said they shouldn’t pay- but it’s time for FREEDOM
I can’t speak for every city, but here in LA, ICE bounty hunters aren’t going after gang members. They’re hunting the vulnerable: gardeners, street vendors, day laborers.
Easy money, no risk.
Folks need to stop pretending this is about crime.
@jacobsoboroff.bsky.social—thank you for your words.
How could they have gotten away? Don’t you think Jose would have found them and harmed them. They would’ve ruined his life!!! He couldn’t have that.
They didn’t kill them for the money. My brother and I had 4 months before we were arrested. We had the same mentality they did- FREEDOM
@msnbc.com y’all want to have a conversation?????
I will have to disagree with you. There are a lot of people who escape their abusers like this. Look at Cyntoia Brown Long, Chrysal Kizer, Sara Kruzan, Jarret Harper, the Garlock Brothers, etc.
They did it to escape the abuse. All trauma responses
How should they have handled it? In 1989, they would be accusing a rich person of sexually abusing them. How would that have turned out? They were fearful for their lives and escaped the abuse. I believe them Wholeheartedly!!!!
@npr.org do y’all want to have a conversation about Survivor Homicide???
Why would you say that? They had been abused for years and committed the murders to escape. Have you experienced what they did????
Before the Senate votes on Trump’s Tax Scam, there will be a “vote-a-rama.” This is when senators can propose endless changes that their colleagues then need to vote on.
You probably have some creative ideas for amendments. Submit them now to help keep vote-a-rama going for as long as possible. 👇
Remember: Ds must make this a career-ender for every R who votes for this monstrously cruel bill
