Why do people think it’s a good idea to talk on the speaker phone, literally ever? Much less at an airport bar? Like, bro, no one gives a damn about your parking situation about your offsite job. We’re all traveling for work if we’re at an airport bar at 9pm on a Tuesday. You’re not special. (Sorry)

I wonder how where Beaty Falls on Jennings Ck (self-coined name) falls on the list of FL waterfalls. Fun to explore all of the hidden nature in this stream running through the UF campus!

Carbon Dynamics in Artificial Aquatic Ecosystems: Comparing Greenhouse Gases and DOM in Stormwater and Natural Ponds Stormwater ponds emit greenhouse gases at rates similar to carbon-rich natural ponds and greater than clear water natural ponds Stormwater ponds had unique humic-like organic materials but shared...

It’s important to know how artificial ecosystems process carbon compared to the natural ecosystems they replace or are built to mimic. Check out our fresh-out-the-oven @jgrbiogeo.bsky.social pub to see how GHG saturation & dissolved organic matter differ bw stormwater ponds & natural ponds in FL 💧🐊

Denitrification Looks Different in Rivers Versus Streams - Eos A study directly comparing waterways of different sizes revealed important differences in nitrogen dynamics across seasons.

Rivers and streams each help remove excess nitrogen from surface waters, but there are important differences between them. New research by @abagaelpruitt.bsky.social, @ajreisinger.bsky.social, and coauthors in new @jgrbiogeo.bsky.social research.

I appreciate how the *checks notes* center for alchemical sciences and sunspots cares so much about me that they typed out an AI prompt for a holiday card and sent it to a listserv!

Question for academics: do you receive e-holiday cards from unaffiliated departments, centers, etc?

I’m not anti-AI. It’s just so insulting when someone sends you a message, a picture, a suggestion, this is just laughably bad and AI. I’d rather you not spend any effort thinking of me than have to act like your AI-generated “thoughts” are actually helpful.

Pitt scores against us in the last second. Miami scores against Pitt in the last minute. It’s all garbage time. “mIaMi HaD tHe BeTteR sCoRiNg MaRgIn”

Kenny deep to Cam. As a nice little treat.

Can’t remember exactly the size but somewhere in MI and I think it was a “he’s the best player on the team by far, of course he’s the qb” situation

That was a very well behaved baby! The dogs, too! We watched it at home. The visuals would’ve been more impactful in a theater I’m sure (duh). I agree w your first point: remarkable that it got made.

Just finished it. Not sure if I liked it. But it definitely hit me.
