Definitely does. With all the screenwriting platforms, crashing or being closed even if they come back as something else it just feels like you’re wasting money. I don’t knock it obviously, but it just feels like you’re better off failing/succeeding at your own hands.

I plan on making this myself. We already have at least a small part of investment about 10% of what I’m thinking. So I wouldn’t even bother with blacklist unless I’m selling. And even then, I’ll probably have a better chance of chasing down investors and making it myself 😂😂😂

Hell no. lol I’m the nephew of script consultant. It took me three drafts to get to the 7.5 and only one to get 8.3.

Telling screenwriters it’s fine to “just write” feels wildly irresponsible right now.

If you want your project made—short or feature—you have way better odds learning to produce or direct. Script comps aren’t the path anymore. That era’s over. #scriptsky

A well known producer sent me an AI generated script today. He passed it off as his own saying it was his “first attempt” and “he was nervous for my feedback”… It was AI and he was trying to pay me to rewrite it to make it his own

For those who asked on the side:

“how did you know it was an AI generated script?“

Simple. Aside from the obvious signs. If you don’t proofread it before you send it off you don’t delete the question that the AI will ask at the end. In this case, “would you like scene numbers added to this”😂

Producers with no skill at excited for AI because now the skill they don’t want learn but make money off of is easily accessible.

I have no problem with AI. It has its uses but I was just emailed an AI generated script to “rewrite” for my normal fee who passed it off as his own. Smh

I soft-shoed my ass off, came up with something halfway decent on the spot, and ended up getting paid handsomely to write a treatment for a movie that will never see the light of day. Industry’s wild. That level of anxiousness though? Ulcer inducing. #scriptsky #thestudio
