Got a little distracted last Friday. Sadly this will have to wait until later.

New shader I wrote last night. I gotta stop doing this and work on gameplay stuff for a change 😩

Re-uploading this because the previous upload was like 20fps for some reason:

Looking for feedback on the SFX design. I think it’s cool but I worry that a lot of people will quickly get sick of it.

Rediscovered an old #pico8 game I made in 2019. I forgot how much fun I used to have making tiny games like this.

Here we are at the end of another year.

Keep living, keep fighting, keep growing.

Keep loving, and making, and building, and singing.

Remember what we’ve lost, look ahead towards the horizon of what’s to come.

Take care and stay safe, my friends.

It just feels like yet another attempt at gathering user data to use for whatever.

Like how YouTube sent me a message threatening to ban my account and delete all my videos unless I provided some ID. And even after you verify, if you ask them to delete your ID then they will un-verify your account

Updating the respite levels in my #roguelike

Yes exactly!

It also has a distinct look (somewhat subtle in this video though) since all of the lighting is done via per-pixel distance calculations and I’m not bothering with anything like normal maps or specular highlights.

It’s not physically accurate at all but I like the way it looks 🙃

Reworked the lighting again.

All of the 'lights' you see in this video are just clever shader tricks on completely unlit geometry.

This is significantly more performant than using Godot's omnidirectional lights and dynamic shadows aren't really a concern for my art style.
