Pretty paint samples fanned out on a countertop.
Well, my samples arrived for a project I can’t tackle due to surprise surgery. Argh!

Think I’m going to have to cave and buy a knee scooter so I can make it to the bathroom in the middle of the night without falling over first.
Squee! I’ve been looking forward to that one!
Nap time for post-op me!
My healer is the real deal.
Nichole Christoff’s heavily wrapped post-surgery ankle at twilight.
There and back again…
Here is a twilight photo of the results of my urgent, short-notice surgery. Doctor says condition of the tissue means this fix is “tenuous” (That’s a direct quote.) and more damage remains, but could heal. Time will tell!
For all those still feeling the moon joy—Artemis II was brought to you by public schools and publicly funded science. Copy that! 👩🚀🚀💕
*All four astronauts went to public schools!
Note to self: Don’t call your mom while the meds are still in your body post-op. That stuff is like truth serum.
Thanks so much! You know, the latest Karen Rose is always on my list!❤️
When other nations say, “This is why we can’t have nice things…” and vote accordingly…
Thanks so much. I need to learn to be patient with the process. Grrr.
Thank you. I’m rather frustrated. I’m a terrible patient with no patience, and I know I’ll be climbing the walls once I’m released. But I’m having fun lining up films and books for my recovery period!
A young woman looks comically concerned in a photo by Ospan Ali.
My reaction Friday when the doctor said, “I’ve got your MRI results. This is urgent. I’ve booked you for surgery.”

Why, why, why?
It’s been another hard day. Oof.
source call out for a Guardian story: I am pretty sure a lot of progressive/leftist Christians follow me... if that's you and you're involved in faith-based organizing and mutual aid right now, please get in touch over Signal @ lex_mcmenamin.68
This still isn’t a video game, and it sure as hell ain’t four-dimensional chess.
this is the first time in my life i can point to the moon and tell my cat there are astronauts flying to it
travel poster style print of the Mako tank from Mass Effect on the moon with the Earth hanging above in a star field. Text reads: Luna - see the moon in a Mako
Hearing the Artemis II crew talk about the colors of the moon, gives me a little bit of a charge, ngl. I drew this about 12 (?) years ago, and so many people commented that "the Moon is grey. Why did you use those colors?"
VINDICATION.
This is the most compelling pitch I've ever heard for a Beef Wellington though, not gonna lie.
Everything in the world that’s upsetting us? Do the opposite of that. Be the opposite of it.
“the real change in treatment came as more women entered medicine and scientific research; the fact that they had their own experiences of menopause helped spur a meaningful re-evaluation of the science.”🧪
Have to say, I see a lot of info on oil and impact on prices, and too little on the deaths and impact to human life of the war.
Quietly enjoying the biggest and the littlest blessings this Easter morning…
Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.
