Kind Hearts And Coronets (1949). Director Robert Hamer. Well that’s one way of saving money on your production, gave one of main performers take on eight roles!

👍🏻 another Mark Farrow minimal masterclass.

Totally agree. Will never understand how they went from delivering four and a half classics in a row to The Altogether. Baffling. The yellow album counts as half, had plenty of highlights but a couple of tracks were under developed.

Cool. Totally agree artists were a bit more open minded, the boundaries had been set
yet so there was a great deal of exploration possibilities. Check this one out too: www.discogs.com/release/1723...

Fun, it’s bloody marvellous. A delight for any one who has an interest in early nineties downtempo electronica. There’s a second volume that focuses on the early 90s Japanese scene too.

Makes it more of a challenge to dig through you collection, reignite some old memories.

Nice. I’ve not seen them live since ‘94. And I don’t remember much of that due to too much Lemonade and extra strong mints ;-)

Out there somewhere? does it for me. It’s like an extended love letter to Jean-Michel Jarre.

Well, I must have dreamt that headline story on the 6 O’clock news of the malnourished children dying in Gazza….

No. 244. Keith Jarrett - The Melody At Night, With You (1999). Standout track - I Loves You, Porgy. I have many different recordings of this track, but this is the most melancholic. Mr Jarrett never fails to deliver.

No. 243. Robert Fripp - Exposure (1979). Standout track - Chicago. The obvious choice would be the Here Comes The Flood. This is the original’79 version, I will get round to some of the other 599 other versions by Mr Fripp.

How? I find it usually takes about three weeks for ITV X to just load successfully.

No. 242. Vangelis - Opera Sauvage (1979). Standout track - L’Enfant. Vangelis at his peak for me. A consistently good album that flows beautifully and is a thoroughly engaging. Not a single gated drum to be heard here!!

No. 241. The Blue Nile - Hats (1989). Standout track - Saturday Night. What a delightfully upbeat album closer. Sometimes it’s the little things that give you faith that there is good in the world and all will be OK.

Nowt wrong with that. Wish I had a dedicated listening room.

No. 240. Floating Points - Crush (2019). Standout track - Requiem For CS70 And Strings. There’s no doubting young Mr Shepherd certainly has the skills to pay the bills. Returning to this I find it even more enjoyable than ever.

Balls, that’s a typo, I hadn’t spotted that. That’s the danger of late night posting. I do hope they hurry up and bring edits to the platform. Just like we over on the ‘other’ place before it went to hell.

No. 239. Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport (2009). Standout track - Olympians. Still makes me chuckle, knowing that millions of people watched the opening ceremony of the London 2012 olympics without knowing they’d heard Fuck Buttons.

It’s the 30th anniversary this year. I’m hoping Messers Rowland & Simmonds release a Deluxe Edition that includes the three Dust Brothers EPs’.
