Polanski says the reason for refusal is because it’s unaffordable luxury development. That won’t be true.

They are running many fraudulent campaigns and making promises they can’t keep. @zackpolanski.bsky.social is even supportive of unlawful planning decisions or just ignorant
Hey, @zoegarbett.bsky.social , Do you agree with Dylan, that the council are a “bunch of punks”? thhttps://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRfAcCHg/

If you are thinking of voting Green in Hackney do listen to the ridiculous and simplistic analysis of this Green party spokesperson.
Serious cyclist injuries will be the highest ever recorded in 2025, far higher than 2017 even after only 8 months of data. And since 2015 London’s streets are now less safe. They duped us all. Defund @London_cycling!
Still no answer Cllr Sullivan. How will blind people catch their bus?
A reminder to people that you and @nuttyxander told us segregation would mean safer streets.
My piece about the 10-year decline of London's bus service now republished on my personal Substack: davehillonlondon.substack.com/p/bus-servic.... #london #transport #truelondon #buses
Did you notice the rise in serious cyclist injuries and risk per journey in London Peter?
Chart showing annual killed and serious cycle injuries in London plus the figure for first 7 months of this year.
Chart showing the risk of being killed or seriously injured per cycle journey. This has risen since 2015.
@ruthcadbury.bsky.social Hi Ruth, Did you see how badly London is doing on cycle safety. As many cyclists in London were killed and seriously injured in the first 7 months of 2025 than the whole of 2015. The risk of being a serious injury per journey has been rising since 2017 according to TfL data.
Thanks for engaging, but untried camera systems aren’t going to make the inaccessible, accessible. Nor deal with the chaos at stops. Here is the question:
“How will blind people travel independently to and from Portland Place by bus if the council were to install a floating bus stop there?”

A partially sighted women asked @citywestminster.bsky.social Cllr @maxsullivan.bsky.social how she would get to Portland Place when they take away the accessible bus stop on the street and route bike tracks through the pavement. He didn’t answer!
It isn’t true to imply that London is safer by bike. The Mayor’s own data shows the risk per journey trending up since 2015.
Keith was very keen on scooters. I wonder if he will bring that to the party. Haha.
@sebdance.bsky.social Hey Seb, Did you see TfL published its finalised road safety data for 2024. Have you any comment for an article I am writing about the risk index you have? Risk looks to be flat lining or rising.
The Chartered Institute for Highways and Transport, the professional body of your highways engineers just uploaded a webinar course that recognises the problems of bus stop bypasses with a particular mention for bi-directional bike tracks.
What do we want?
To walk ten metres without bumping into a Lime Bike, stray wheelie bin, or cafe A-board in the middle of the pavement.
When do we want it?
Whenever you’ve got a sec to pop out and move them.
I wrote to @LonTravelWatch pointing out @greateranglia’s misunderstanding of boundary zone extension tickets. Their knowledgeable casework team sorted it out within days. Well done LTW.

In 2012 Peter Hendy suggested to pedestrianise Oxford Street two bus stations were needed, one at either end, but that would be unacceptable.
Worth reminding that of the great things Ken did, getting the buses to run on time was up there.
Serious cycling injuries will be near 1000 for 2024. That’s 50% higher than 2017. Buses are running at their slowest speeds since I bus records began with no prospect of recovering.
Clearly City Hall doesn’t understand how planning policy and decision making works. The 50% does trip a viability assessment, but viability is material and so if 50% in unviable a lesser figure can be policy compliant and thereby approved. Well done Wandsworth.
TfL can’t demonstrate any shift from cars to cycles in London. It’s just catabolising other sustainable modes.
It is a shame this wasn’t done in a more planned manner. It could have been.
My final piece in Local Transport Today, Let’s put more and safer cycling in the mix with better buses and great streets for walking too

Agree. Keeping the highway clear of obstruction has been a duty of local government for more than two hundred years. I don’t understand why they can’t do it.
