The power of the tides is spread so far and wide that it’s almost impossible for the Imperator to monitor, giving free rein to its agents.
That is of course unless said agents commits a great transgression against the will of the Imperator.
What is that will? Are there any left that can know?
#AntagonistApril Day 21
Nihilox’s power is derived from the tides of oblivion, which are controlled by the unseen Imperator - this is true for all agents of Tahr’Tareos.
Those that become members gain a superhuman level of power and are capable of defending themselves. Still, strength in numbers.
Nice! Is this update available as a download for those who previously purchased the game?
Me cosplaying as my Saints Row Boss, Ezekiel Dove Picture by HeroSnap Lafayette
I even cosplayed the bugger again recently at Megacon Birmingham.
Ezekiel Dove, the Playa - Saints Row (2006)
Ezekiel Dove, the Boss - Saints Row 2 Eyes got scarred up pretty bad in the boat explosion, so he got em tattooed
Ezekiel Dove, the Boss - Saints Row the Third: Remastered SR3 was actually where I first got into the series a few years back, so the remaster was a fun coming home moment
If you were to tell me at the start of the year that I’d be falling back into the gravity well of Saints Row, I’m not sure if I would have believed you.
Anyway, here’s me old Boss: Ezekiel Dove!
#AntagonistApril Day 19
Nihilox isn’t above leaving inconsequential destruction to oblivionites/mist beasts, but he’s also more than willing to go after an objective himself.
The greater scope villain’s whole deal is in manipulating others to carry out their will.
#AntagonistApril Day 18
Nihilox, like all agents of Tahr’Tareos, is able to control the flow of the tides of oblivion, allowing him to form copies of any creature that has been consumed by the tides - known as oblivionites, or mist beasts - or corrupt and control living beings by infecting them.
#AntagonistApril Day 17
The second instalment will be introducing an evil himbo. Can they be a himbo if they’re not nice? I dunno, but Zayse is that - an oblivious, arrogant doofus sent to stop our heroes from upsetting the “natural” order.
#AntagonistApril Day 16
Can’t get into this without spoiling the plans I have for the later instalments. Boring answer, but that’s all I’ve got.
#AntagonistApril Day 15
Nihilox himself is little more than a jumped-up henchman himself, using the power of Tahr’Tareos for his own betterment. He relishes taking action against a world he believes owes him.
Another unnamed henchman is present, living for the fight, for a world he feels owed to.
I remember Action Man. Particularly, I spent a lot of time playing the PS1 game of it - Mission Extreme.
The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.
I do love me some patented 🎶Skiiiiiiiinner🎶 burgers
youtu.be/_5aPl2q7vtg?...
I know that pain all too well 😅 It took me, on and off, about two years and a bit to get mine done.
Next up, good old editing.
Congrats on clearing that first major hurdle!
Those who join Tahr’Tareos have to be willing to sacrifice their humanity in order to accept the gift of oblivion. Those who lack the conviction of their true self are doomed to join the faceless masses that make up the tides; only the strongest willed can retain their identity and join the ranks.
#AntagonistApril Day 14
Every party in the story eventually comes to make significant sacrifices. The shard-bearers effectively sacrifice their privacy by letting the spirit of their predecessors live inside their heads. Unknowingly, they’re also sacrificing their place in the common afterlife.
#AntagonistApril Day 13
Well, that would certainly be telling when it comes to one villain faction.
When it comes to Tahr’Tareos however, there are those who see them as an organisation of liberation - in a world where real power seems hard to come by, some will try to rise by any means necessary.
#AntagonistApril Day 12
There’s little point to a prison for a collapsed society, especially when when discord and ill behaviour draw in the tides of oblivion.
Depends of course on how you would define a “prison”.
As centuries have passed since Tahr’Tareos unleashed the tides of oblivion upon the world again, centralised society has collapsed, causing cultural knowledge to dwindle - this includes the memory of where Tahr’Tareos even came from or why they do what they do.
The greatest fear is of the unknown.
#AntagonistApril Day 11
Tahr’Tareos, as the group at the helm of the tides of oblivion, invites nothing but fear and suspicion.
Their original intentions remain unknown to all but their own members - as the organisation has grown and spread though, that intent has been lost to individual wills.
#AntagonistApril Day 10
Nihilox is certainly not unaware of the wrongs he’s done - he just doesn’t care. All he cares about is enriching himself and reaching the top of the food chain.
The greater scope villains? Who’s to say…
#AntagonistApril Day 9
Seida and Valkner start off seeing Nihilox as the monster he chooses to be. Valkner remains in that camp, not bothered about the nuances.
Seida, seeing how the inequality created by the Crystal Sky, comes to understand N, but doesn’t let him off. At most, she pities him.
#AntagonistApril Day 8
Nihilox’s goal is to escape the world beneath the Crystal Sky, seize the power hoarded by the peak top villages and kill anyone that stands in his way.
So long as he gets what he wants - the place at the top of the totem pole - he doesn’t care who he hurts.
For context, the tides of oblivion are the force of wanton chaos that the world was born from. As the mythos goes, the tides were smothered, molded and sealed away by Goll-Majistus - the creator deity - until they were supposedly discovered and unleashed again by Tahr’Tareos. How? Why? Who’s to say?
If I had to choose a single thought which haunts me most, it’s this. And it has animated me for years. This thing has been growing and metastasizing for almost a decade. And every passing year we’ve grown more hoarse trying to get someone to give a shit.
#AntagonistApril Day 7
As the force that weaponised the tides of oblivion and drove humanity to the peak top villages above the Crystal Sky, Tahr’Tareos certainly carries a heavy mantle.
Why would they do such a thing?
#AntagonistApril Day 6
There’s one antagonistic character who, after being a bit of a dick, turns out to not be dreadful.
As for if there’s a twist villain? Who’s to say?
Point being, a villain like Nihilox is an end result of an unjust system.
He himself may not be sympathetic, as a result of his choices, but he didn’t create the systems that gave rise to his actions.
