I tried Photopea today. No issues - just lots of ads. It has no timeline but Blender solved that. I’ll try Affinity in the coming days. Glad someone else has been able to break away from Photoshop.

I spent a couple of hours today using the #Blender video editor as an alternative to #Photoshop Timeline to animate image sequences. I'm happy with the results. I was already using Blender for 3D modeling and didn't even know it had a video editor.

I'm not renewing my #photoshop plan. Call it subscription fatigue or whatever, but there's too little innovation and too much of a push to A! to justify the cost. I'll be using #blender to edit and render videos, and I'm going to test Photopea and Affinity as alternatives for creating cover images.

To be clear, I use Grammarly for spell and grammar check, not to rewrite paragraphs.

Has anyone noticed that #grammarly is suggesting lots of em dashes? I guess the program is being influenced by an LLM. Makes me want to look for an alternative. I had a previous rule of two em dashes per novel and one semicolon. So, I have to dismiss lots of suggestions. #editing #writerscommunity

I'm running a final edit of books 1-4 of series 5 while finishing animation and music for the project, and jotting down notes for the next series. I'll wrap up in a couple of weeks after listening to the novels. I like to use Read Aloud in Word as a final check.
