I always enjoyed the raging-but-friendly debates over Montreal vs. NY bagels whenever we visited family stateside. We always ended up agreeing that shared bagel culture is the best culture of all.
I stare into the reflective waters and realize they’ll never look precisely like this again.
Maybe I’ll return someday, and maybe the lighting, weather, and even my mood will be similar.
But this exact image will never be repeated.

I thought of Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, Apollo 17 Lunar Module Pilot, who I was privileged to have interviewed early in my career.
