Picotron Scoresub Tutorial taxicomics published a post on Ko-fi

A lot sprite data compression is also happening in places, and tab 2-3 shares the same memory space as the bottom half of the map, so if you ever see something garbled there as well, then that is the reason

No worries, I thought I'd shine some light on it. Except a few people who try to make a living most people publish full open source code and only looks ugly due to compression techniques

They are done so because PICO-8 has a token (basically code) limit. You can code above it, just not export. Community members made minifier just so they can push more code into the cart to make bigger games. See: github.com/thisismypass...
Most devs will send you the normal code if you ask them.
