There is no justification for today’s extraordinary concentration of wealth at the very top. It’s distorting our politics, rigging our markets and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.
#math #physics One scientist who worked on the bomb at Los Alamos said for several years afterwards whenever he saw construction he wondered why anyone bothered to build anything.

These are usually impossible. But after realizing I only knew 1, 2, 364 and 728 I asked AI for the factors. Once I then anchored 364 in the lower right, it was relatively easy to tweak the rest. At least it didn't have, "The gray areas must add to..."
I once thought that Catholic schools must be excellent. But over time I concluded that graduates of Catholic schools are terribly close-minded people. When they heard something new to them they would say, "He does't know what he's talking about." They're probably terrible at fundamental research.

#math #physics #classicalmusic #opera I never realized when violinists talked about Paganini's compositions being "devilishly difficult," that they meant it literally. 🎻👿🎶
Yes.
We are now at the cusp of a real Class War.
Terms like "Late Stage Capitalism" are taking hold. And merit.
Wealth Inequality is at the heart of everything that is wrong in this country. It has absolutely reached Critical Mass, and we are fed TF up - fed up w/the grift. W/the media. W/itALL.
"Blocking the Strait of Hormuz essentially held the world’s energy economy hostage. China is watching. And they know “a blockade of Taiwan would hurt the global economy more than Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.”

Trump fucked up his war so bad he’s trying to change the subject back to Epstein.
My Aunt Sara @sce007.bsky.social has launched her substack! We are very proud of her! She studied her way through Bonhoeffer's life and times over many years, and attended a couple of prestigious universities! And I have been her research assistant through it all! Congratulations Aunt Sara! 💜🌻👏👏👏🥳🥰

#math #physics #scicomm I've read scicomm articles for many years, but who had "elephant mobility" on their Bingo card? 🐘🤔

Happy Easter from Bobby the Border Terrier.
Original Caption "The rising Earth is about five degrees above the lunar horizon in this telephoto view taken from the Apollo 8 spacecraft near 110 degrees east longitude. The horizon, about 350 miles (570 kilometers) from the spacecraft, is near the eastern limb of the moon as viewed from Earth. Width of the view at the horizon is about 95 miles (150 kilometers). On Earth, 240,000 miles away, the sunset terminator crosses Africa. The crew took the photo around 10:40 a.m. Houston time on the morning of Dec. 24, and that would make it 15:40 GMT on the same day. The South Pole is in the white area near the left end of the terminator. North and South America are under the clouds." Source: https://science.nasa.gov/resource/apollo-8s-iconic-earthrise/
From the Moon, Earth rises — fragile, beautiful, and still our only home.
Wishing peace and hope for everybody on this small blue planet.

Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman took this picture of Earth from the Orion spacecraft after completing the translunar injection burn. There are two auroras (top right & bottom left) and zodiacal light (bottom right) is visible as the Earth eclipses the Sun. 🧪🔭 #Artemis

Trump is describing the Iran war a “decisive victory.”
But the war is still ongoing and has already cost about $24 billion — roughly $41 million an hour.
Here’s what that money could have paid for instead:

"As with any incoherent doctrine, originalism allows you to prove anything. Thus in practice what it amounts to is a ritual invocation of the Founders, gesturing at this or that piece of text from a few centuries back, before delivering whatever conclusion was approved on Fox News the night before."
🗣️"No country is protected from the consequences of a regional crisis. The crisis is much closer than it may seem at first glance,” #Iran’s Ambassador to #Georgia, Ali Moujani, wrote on March 31.
Several hours after publishing the post, Moujani’s FB account disappeared and can no longer be found.
Thanks. She fooled me! 👩🦰😲

@trickysurname.bsky.social My continuing education class today showed this short video, and when I saw the host I immediately thought of you. I grew up with many Poles near Cleveland, and never saw one there with long red hair. Is this a new fashion? 🎨👩🦰🤔
