Raise your voice for a safer Grand Avenue! Show your support for the upcoming street safety improvements on Grand Avenue. Business owners and out-of-towners want Grand Avenue to stay dangerous. They're protesting at the intersection of Grand and Ogden every monday from 4-6pm. Join our counter-protest and show that you support safe streets for kids, families, and seniors! Bring signs, friends, and a positive attitude. We know that Grand is unsafe. Let's fix it!

Everyone who lives near Grand Avenue knows that it's dangerous. Unfortunately, some business owners haven't gotten the message yet.

We're hosting a counterprotest to their protest against the upcoming street safety improvements. Bring your homemade signs and a positive attitude!

Housing near public transit encourages car-free living A Bucktown resident is perplexed by neighbors who think housing near a Blue Line stop will bring more cars. Also, the Illini men's basketball team, Trump and what spring break was like for teens back in the day.

“Ironically, it’s people who need to drive who should be the biggest supporters of transit-oriented developments like the one on Milwaukee Avenue: The more people walking and riding the train, the fewer cars clogging our streets.”

Great letter by one of our members! 👇

Reminder to be firm but polite if/when you call! We’re still not 100% sure where he stands on this issue.

We want to make him a safe streets ally, not beat him into submission.

YOU Can Bike In Winter - We'll Show You
YOU Can Bike In Winter - We'll Show You YouTube video by Chicagoans Who Bike

ICYMI - YOU can bike in winter, and so can your friends! In less than 10 minutes, we can show you that in a winter city like Chicago, you can start biking in winter with what you already have in your closet.

Do you like winter riding? ☃️

Curious to see the end product - we’ve been compiling winter biking tips too.

Headgear can be very unintuitive to people - Helmet? Hat? Helmet liners? It can be non-obvious if you’ve never tried it.

(IMO, a ski helmet with goggles is the best balance of warmth, cost, and protection)
