He did say that! Good grief. What next, a bunker on top of the ballroom to protect the ballroom?
"He said the ballroom would protect the underground facility from drones, bullets and other attacks. “It’s high-grade bulletproof glass. So all of the windows are bulletproof,” Mr. Trump said.

Lynne! Wow, thank you! 😊
Y’all, this is a phenomenal project. I’m not done reading, but—is biting wonder a thing? That’s how I’d describe it.
Karl Tierney was remarkable poet & friend of our managing editor @mjseyesopened.bsky.social. We've been planning this feature for years: an interview w/the late Jim Cory, editor of Karl's (2019) Selected Poems, + 8 unpublished poems, memorials, art & photos. #LGBTQIA

Entanglements - a poem by Karl Tierney Because I cannot point to some little Gibralter and say "That's the one!" like Queen Victoria shopping, I've let myself be the one who's picked. So when the last one came along, a veritable fan, those tin wrists and acne scars paled in comparison to a flat ass and ears that don't match. But both with broad shoulders, boy of boy could we argue like men and cut the mustard without the dreadful shame everyone's incessantly discussing these days on TV, in congregations, meetings of all sorts. To make a not-so-long-story even shorter, I got committed for life -- his, and then with no money left -- mine, declared emotional bankruptcy -- a preemptive strike at the next one. - July 28, 1991
cover of HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?: The Castro Poems of Karl Tierney, Jim Cory, Editor. Sibling Rivalry Press, 2019
Publisher’s Weekly called Karl Tierney’s posthumous collection, Have You Seen this Man: The Castro Poems of Karl Tierney “an overdue introduction to an important voice in American poetry.” Patrick Nathan: “At the height of the AIDS crisis, Karl Tierney wrote dark and radiant poems about queer life.

I want to acknowledge some people and small presses that I feel I've not given enough words to. I thought I might do a long thread, but knowing my skills, I'd probably lose stuff, so this is a series. I'll hashtag everything #PoetryAppreciation. Here goes:
#PoetryAppreciation: First I want to acknowledge and thank @icefloepress.bsky.social, @rfredekenter.bsky.social and Moira Saucer, who published my first chapbook, Dawn's Fool. Robert did some exquisite line edits on several of the poems, with a deft touch that added liveliness. (The collection

I know we’re so far past even considering the possibility that Republicans ever actually believed in the Constitution, but it’s a useful thought experiment to read this article as if it was about Biden using technology developed by a billionaire donor to surveil anti-abortion and 2A activists.
1940’s Norwegians made and wore red hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law. This shop is selling the pattern for $5 and donating proceeds to local immigrant aid groups.
The Relationship is Mystical Everywhere you live, subject to military boots. I hear soldiers stomping through your things, looking through cupboards opening drawers with gun barrel, opening boxes, measuring with tape. Taking you out back with cutting shears. Dug out stockades, handcuffs made from wire, plastics placed in the garden, hollowed with dirt. Grab you by your wrists, to gas the wings of the dove, feathers spread in full wing-span below your shoulder blades, pinned back. Changing the nature of meaning. To suit the purpose of the wall. The subject, dreary readers, is this: freedom is actually An orchestrated psychosis, measured, illustrated, disappeared. © Robert Frede Kenter

I wonder what any of you would do differently in your lives if I said "yes, America is at this moment a fascist nation."
Because I tell ya what, if I thought so, I'd be doing things differently. For starters, I wouldn't bother worrying about elections or candidates or whom to support. /1
Donald J. Trump @realDonald Trump Please be informed that we will no longer let the American Public be "ripped off" by Credit Card Companies that are charging Interest Rates of 20 to 30%, and even more, which festered unimpeded during the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration. AFFORDABILITY! Effective January 20, 2026, l, as President of the United States, am calling for a one year cap on Credit Card Interest Rates of 10%. Coincidentally, the January 20th date will coincide with the one year anniversary of the historic and very successful Trump Administration. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP
