The "Coast Connect Trail" section is complete, and the next section is the 330-mile High Sierra section. However, the snowmelt has caused several of the rivers to be uncrossable, so I will skip ahead to start the 607-mile Nevada section. I'll return for the High Sierra section in September.

The guidebook is showing its age (2017), as some of the listed hot springs were closed, some of the roads were washed out, and some of the trails were overgrown. But like with all these routes, I improvised a little and used my knowledge of the climate/terrain to make it work.

I started the Hot Springs Trail (2400 miles) on May 8th, at Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara. It's been a wild 18 days and 304 miles so far, and while some of the trail was unpleasant (the day before I-5), all six of the hot springs I visited were great!
