that women are more likely to receive a psychosomatic diagnosis and men are more likely to receive a physical diagnosis. It is also about women-specific diseases such as endometriosis, and about the fact that women would have to accept the stress that comes with pain as given

The documentary addresses the diagnostic bias, i.e. the systematic error in making the diagnosis because diagnostic criteria were set based on the „standard model men“. It's about socio-cultural gender and gender roles;

Here is a very exciting and good documentary about women's health: Research has long focused on men as the "standard model", partly because hormonal fluctuations over the course of a woman's life "unnecessarily complicates" research.

New paper alert! 🚨 @derntllab.bsky.social and @aisteambrase.bsky.social were involved in investigating emotion reactivity in naturally-cycling women and women on OCs or IUDs.
