Extremely intrigued by the preview for the new Harta series next month about a series where the pitch is exclusively that it's about a (fictional?) species of ungulate observing and being observed by humans
At the local breakfast spot there was a friend group with their Switches comparing how they made each other in Tomodachi Life. Nice vibe.
I think this is the main reason I never got like a blog going... Anything other than "miscellaneous stuff I happened to come across" feels too restrictive, but that itself feels like a self-consciously uninspiring banner when setting out. I'd be thrilled if you go for it and thread the needle!

Shifted things around so now my favorite reading/working spot has a computer with nice speakers pointed at it, and I feel like I've already in a few days listened to more music than I had in years.
All but gave up on a notion for a long-distance move that I'd harbored and worked towards for a few years, as it turned out to not be as possible as I'd hoped, and I immediately made like a dozen long overdue changes to my current status quo.

For the first time after about seven years and 41000 cards, I have run out of new cards in the Anki deck where my Japanese lookups all go.
Not something I ever thought would happen, or so soon! I still look things up of course, but not nearly at a rate that could ever fill the well up again.
Either way the alternating rich and sweet layers make the thing bizarrely cohesive, like the American breakfast version of a wafer cookie. Consistently more than the sum of its parts in a way I very much did not expect.
This has ended up just how I eat breakfast at the local spot, and I find I actually achieve the perfect bite about a quarter of the time, and it does feel somehow special when it goes right in there.
I do think it's very funny that the next two AEW PPVs are both counterprogrammed for me by On Cinema at the Cinema of all things. One ongoing storyline featuring kayfabe and bitter rivalries keeping me from another no matter how you slice it.
I don't interact very much with social media lately, but I do tend to post on the wanikani forum still, specifically in the Harta thread (community.wanikani.com/t/x/64189) and tsundoku thread (community.wanikani.com/t/x/72806) so there's more odds and ends updates there too. Hope you're doing well!

Really really big fan of how they did the effects for the bridge fight in The Lady Hermit.
If you don't watch any pro wrestling I'd recommend it in general (with varied reservations in specific), but mostly what I'd recommend is not dismissing stuff out of hand, since usually it turns out to be weirder and more interesting than your assumptions. I think this ten years helped me with that.
There's many reasons to criticize it as an industry, both justified and not, but I would honestly put it right up there with the very most rewarding newly discovered interests for me in terms of newfound experiences, friendships, and connections to further interests.
