Remember: Before he was The Onion's CEO, Ben was an outstanding reporter on misinformation, and that led him to spend a huge amount of time in really dark places, and to become a target himself for some of the worst people out there. For all the jokes, which are great, that past informs his present.

I like the real world application of this. The human interruption of farming, winding banks of a river locked in a valley it carved, land blown dry by years of drought, or simple plants fostered by unique adaptation to localized stimuli. Occasionally jarring to encounter in wandering.

Bruce Arthur: Duct tape. Bravery. A mental battle. How Canada’s Megan Oldham won slopestyle bronze at the Winter Olympics Ontario slopestyle skier delivers after recovering from a concussion this year and then overcoming a crash at the Milan Cortina Games.

Megan Oldham stood at the top of the hill with an aching back, a taped-up quad, and the fear and anxiety that comes with a crash that sidelined her leading to Milan, and a crash here at the Olympics. But she overcame that fear, and won bronze. She should be proud. www.thestar.com/sports/olymp...

This Calgary cop is the most powerful man in Canadian skeleton. Why are some athletes so afraid of him? Despite allegations of misconduct and systemic issues under head coach Joe Cecchini’s leadership, team members say he’s the only reason why skeleton still exists in Canada.

After Lake Placid the Star investigated Canadian skeleton coach Joe Cecchini: his alleged mistreatment of athletes, his financial control in the sport, and the reason so many athletes are scared not only of speaking out, but that he could show up at their door. www.thestar.com/sports/olymp...

If you let an electron touch a positron (anti-matter version of electron) they'll both annihilate into gamma rays but if you are VERY careful and let them get close but NOT touch then they can form a bound state called positronium that acts kinda like a hydrogen atom for a few hundred nanoseconds 💫

Post surgery 2 weeks ago, Rikki ended up in ER after 42 hrs of arrhythmia. He had to stay at hospital overnight for tests, and treatments. He’s okay and stable now, on new meds and still on the mend. Selling some prints/books until he can get back to conventions. Thank you so much for all your help!

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

Always ask the question. Every story I’ve ever seen of someone curing their cancer using “alternative” therapies has a “also we did the normal stuff” subplot right beneath the surface.
