It is Tuesday somehow... but on Sunday we shared a whole bunch of sandwiches (some meat & cheese, some PB & J), bananas, water, & the usual harm reduction with our unhoused neighbors!

While Home Forward Struggled, Its CEO Spent More Than $100,000 on Taxpayer-Funded Travel Over Three Years Ivory Mathews spent an average of 45 days a year over the past three years crisscrossing the country to attend housing conferences and networking events.

Thank you to City Council Candidate Eli Arnold for making me aware of this lack of accountability. Unconscionable to spend 100K on travel that should be housing people.

I was a live in maintenance tech. From the minute I started I was working on fixing back orders dated clear back to 2019 for these tenants that are 55 and older. I take pride in what I do and I do it to make the lives of the retired much easier to live there lives. But Pinehurst Managements owners do not care for the people who live in their units, who pay their bills. I have seen it first hand. I'm not tooting my own horn but 90% of the tenants said I was the best thing to happen to that complex since it was commissioned. I worked long hours for the people that lived there and the property to look its best. But then I was fired for a bad reason which is against oregon state laws and had 3 days to move out of the apartment my dog and I were living in. Which we are now homeless. The point of my complaint is this company needs to be held accountable for treating
people so poorly, to the point where a couple seniors had been living in a wet molding apartment for over a year and wasn't addressed until I was put into this position to help, which was my main purpose and [redacted] And [redacted] took the tenants lives and my hard work and livelihood for granted all for money. [redacted] needs to be held accountable for deaths that have been caused by his negligence. Please if I can't be helped, that is fine but please help these human beings from being treated like they are nothing.

They have "good" sales people in middle and upper management. A company thats quickly growing- with horrible morals and ethical values. They do not have an HR department, IT, [redacted]. The place is crumbling from the inside out- and somehow staying afloat by suckering in property owners with empty promises (same with the hiring process).Dont expect equal pay, treatment, or honesty from this lot: they will do whatever it takes to make their page pretty. Sexual harassment, pay discrimination, meandering, and the list goes on. I wonder how long they can keep this up. Hopefully, for humanity's sake, not much longer.

Tomorrow, at my apartment complex,
the management is doing a "sweep"
where anything left outside by
residents will be gathered up and
thrown away. Also , all planter and
pots must be removed or they'll be
thrown away. Anything planted in the
ground will be covered in bark dust or
killed. I wish I was joking. The
complex is run by home forward, the
management is Pinehurst.
There is nothing in the lease that
says we can't pant stuff. They say
they're doing it to make it look better,
but I don't understand how tearing up
plants and destroying flowers and
covering it with bark dust is an
improvement.

Last time they threw away bikes and
grills. All perfectly
Good stuff going to the landfill. They
gave us 6 days notice, left it on our
doors on Friday

Dear Residents,

As we all know the weather will be changing and we will have
more sunny days ahead. With the sunny days coming, The
Ellington will be cleaning up the property, and we have
scheduled a few projects that are coming up next week along
with reminders.
1. On April 8,2026 we will be putting down bark dust all
around each building. We will need all residents to
remove everything away from the buildings, including
plants and personal rocks. Any plants that have been
planted into the ground will need to be removed and if
not, the landscapers will lay bark dust over them. The
Ellington or the landscapers will not be responsible or
liable for any damaged potted plants and or plants in
the ground. Residents have until Tuesday 4/7/26 to have
all items removed.
2. The Ellington did a walk-through of the property and
noticed many personal and non-exterior patio furniture
being stored outside of the buildings. We noticed many
BBQ pits on the property which are not allowed. We
noticed trash, broken down items, and cigarette
cup/cans filled with butts. All residents have until
Tuesday 4/7/26 to remove all items or will receive a
notice and all items will be removed by staff on
Wednesday 4/8/26 at 8:00 AM if not removed by
residents.
3. During our walk, many breezeway doors were propped. The
doors are to always remain closed. Residents leaving
doors propped are putting everyone else in the building at
risk.
4. The Ellington is a NO SMOKING PROPERTY
(Marijuana included); Smoking is allowed on the
sidewalk.
5. All pets/animals must be on a leash and registered with the
office. No breeding is allowed on the property.
6. All approved cameras need to be installed on the unit door

Opioid overdoses decline in Oregon for the second year Health experts say multiple factors contributed to the decline, from the increased availability of Narcan to crackdowns on overseas manufacturers

Opioid deaths across Oregon are in decline for the second year in a row, according to federal health projections, dropping nearly 20% in the 12 months ending in August 2025 compared to the same time a year ago, and more than 30% down from the state’s peak in May 2024.
