Excellent and empoweringe educacioun will nevir be "efficient" yn the waye that a businesse doth stryve to be "efficient." It ys the heighte of knavery to use one standarde to measure everye human activitye. Businesses are ther to make profits. Educacioun ys ther to make the future.

Spring is sprung, the snow does fall,
I listen for the goose's call.
The goose sits on a frozen lake;
This Spring sure seems to be a fake.
I joined the PLY guild about a year ago and quite like it; lots of great videos, and several zoom spin-ins available per month. The online forum is pretty quiet, but still handy for links and questions. I don't have any experience with the Sweet Georgia school, but I do hear good things.
So glad you enjoyed it! I learned about cloud prep from an article by Stephenie Gaustad (Semi issue, PLY). She used alpaca there, which I think would work better for that method than the wool I used. She started with "willowing", using two sticks to fluff up the fibre before rolling it into a puni.

Hi! I have an article in the Long Draw issue of @plymagazine ! In the article, I explore using long draw with a variety of preps to make yarn for a knit cowl. The pattern for the cowl is also included! The issue is now available; order your issue (electronic or physical) at ply.com!
🎶 I can't feel my fingers,
can't feel my toes.
Winter is all around us,
and the wind it blows. 🎶
My oldest, a university student, gasped in shock hearing that so many of your students didn't know about Bob Dylan.

Well, I do now. Also, surprisingly often, as my children can attest to. Nearly as often as the theme to The Beachcombers.

I can't help to talk to the birds; I figure it is worth complimenting the magpies on their lovely plumage whether they get the tone or not. :)
I suspect the crows may be starting to roll their eyes when I say "Hello, crow! What do you know?", and I am not sure I can blame them.

I have both a knitting pattern and an article out in the latest issue of PLY Magazine! This Issue is all about Hue, and I share tips on pulling together a colourwork palette. The magazine is available here: plymagazine.com

Was struggling to come up with a différance joke, but will have to defer.
From a disability perspective, a great deal of the putative benefits of AI for neurodivergent folks (which doesn't just include autistic folks or those with ADHD btw) could be better provided by PEOPLE. And I'd much rather the capacity and funding go to people.
Hope all goes well and that recovery is swift!
Oh, ouch! Hope it improves quickly!
I find it frustrating that so many seem to think that testers are the only option. Also frustrating how many feel that "but I like test knitting" is an argument against more ethical and sustainable practices.
I may grow to love it one day; after all, it makes for absolutely gorgeous projects!
Can confirm having taken your course! It's still not my cup of tea to knit brioche, (though I very much admire brioche projects), but I am so glad I get it now, and can do it if I talk myself into it.
OK all things considered (plenty of anxiety what with the everything), but I did get a new book in the mail yesterday, so that's nice.
Well-written post; it's a big part of why I stopped self-publishing. I highly value Tech Editors as a crucial part of any publishing I've done. I couldn't justify using free tester labour, so my work outside of magazines just didn't get seen. I've found other work, and a bit still with magazines.
I have finally officially resigned from the University - wild horses could't drag me back.
It's pretty scary but I am now a full-time free-lancer! You should hire me for workshops and such.

Two samples of yarn hand spun from Wensleydale wool. The smaller one is fuzzier, less consistent, and less shiny.
Decided to ply the Wensleydale once I had combed a decent amount, then to experiment with flick carding a bit more. I'm going back to combing for the remainder of the batch, but found that it is worth flicking the cut ends prior to combing these locks in order to reduce some difficult tangles.
Agreed; vote magpie, Edmonton!
Absolutely! Felt like out of nowhere when she said it!
We watched it with our kids when they were a little older than when we had first watched it (I remember watching it in class in grade 3), and we were especially shocked about the reason she hated Christmas as we had also forgotten. It gets dropped in there so suddenly and starkly too.
