A cupcake with orange and green frosting that a teacher made for me.

This cupcake that a teacher gave a at my crosswalk was part of her lesson plans. The lesson was listening carefully to instructions. Mrs. Steingard made a big batch of cupcakes, 1 for everyone in class & one for me. Unlike all the others, there was only 1 with orange icing to match my orange gear.

Great read looking back on your life. Much difficulties such as your friend's accident and your dad's stroke. God has had His hand on you...and your family. πŸ™

This is really cool. You can tell how much Joan is enjoying it. Loved that they went back to childhood days to Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Joni Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi (Official Lyric Video) YouTube video by Joni Mitchell

With today being #recordstoreday, and #EarthWeek starting tomorrow, thought it was fitting to share the classic "Big Yellow Taxi" from 1970 by Canadian recording artist Joni Mitchell. The graphics on her lyric video is very powerful. #Earth

Arrogance is believing we can endlessly take without giving back. Arrogance is thinking technological cleverness will always save us from ecological collapse. Arrogance is assuming nature is a foe to be battled, rather than the very system that gives us life.

Living With Doubt and Uncertainty As a lay pastor, I do make a lot of effort to be well read up on culture and what is happening in the world. There are good things happening out there. But we live in a broken world where there is …

Article I wrote, predominantly based on my message from last Sunday's sermon at 3 Presbyterian churches. All the non-meme photos are my own taken with my 17 year old Fuji Finepix point and shoot camera. #doubt #jesus #faith #nature #DoubtingThomas #presbyterian πŸ™

We call ourselves "intelligent," yet the humblest fungus can decompose waste and build soil, a tree can harness solar energy, and a wetland can purify waterβ€”all without toxic byproducts. True intelligence is learning from these systems, not bulldozing them.

I have never thought about this. But it got me thinking. This is 100% true with every cyber truck I have seen on the road.

Moss peaking through the snow on a southern facing hill in a hardwood forest. Photo taken April 7th, 2026.

With the 1st snows in early November, by April I am looking for signs of spring. Though everything still looks dormant, there are more and more days that creep above freezing. Nature is slowly arousing from its sleep. On Tuesday I spotted this vivid moss peeking through the snow in the forest.

An odd looking tree in the forest where roots come out of the base or the trunk. It was a prefect seat for me.

Photo taken April 7th on my 17 year old Fuji Finepix camera. Still a lot of snow in the forests. If you get off the hard pack trail, you can sink up to your knees. This natural tree seat was very welcoming for a little rest break. #ThickTrunkTuesday #FujiFinepix #photography #canada #root πŸ“ΈπŸŒ³β„οΈ

Though the calendar says "spring", some years we get snow even in May. I live in the bluish area on the map. Further east in the area in purple got more snow. #Canada #spring
