The phrase 'fat tail' comes from statistics and describes an extreme outcome that is far more likely than predicted by traditional statistical models, such as a normal distribution or bell curve. The financial crisis of 2008 was commonly referred to as a 'fat tail event'.

This is a little meditation on space and time and our smallness in the great scheme of things. The perspective makes the astronaut seem a little larger than the pear, while enormous dinosaurs roam the extended space-time background.
