Come to Calgary this week.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."
He said what the world needs to hear right now. The right leader at the right moment. Pretty proud to be a Canadian having listened to that speech.

This Kevin J Johnston? lol
I really needed to clean my drivetrain ahead commuting this week, but I wanted to abide by the water restrictions. Last time we had rainwater, this time we have snow! #yycbike
I think it is probably a bad idea to put clearly unhinged, angry psychopaths in federal law enforcement positions.
In my early days of bike commuting, one of my main motivators was knowing my other option, taking transit, would be way slower.
The Smith-Carney bitumen pipeline accord would very probably get a better reception at an Alberta NDP convention than at a UCP convention.
That's where we're at now in Alberta politics.
Nice, I hit 5,000 kms yesterday, my highest total to date.
My ride home last night put me over my goal of 5,000 kms for the year and well past last year’s total of over 4,200. Very happy about that and still more riding to do in 2025! #yycbike

Evan Lee, a high school student, finds the courage to ask a relevant and intelligent question, backed by data, in a public forum.
Instead of the UCP celebrating youth engagement, he's tone-policed, told his question doesn't make sense (b/c they cut his mic), and they suggest he needs a spanking.
"Montréal is often hailed as the most “biking-friendly” city in North America. But our research has found that only 2.3 per cent of the city’s roadways are allocated to bike infrastructure, with car infrastructure occupying the remaining 97.7 per cent of road space." #yycbike

Love it! I should've filmed the two blocks+ of gridlock I rode past on my way into work this morning in Calgary.
I hope they at least replace that pathway while they’re at it.
Pundits predict Trump’s “Thank you for being my pedophile friend” letter will hurt Democrats somehow
Bike cage in the Arts Parkade and a much larger bike cage at Foothills used by CSM faculty, staff and students and AHS employees. Same $30 per year swipe card gets you into both, which has been handy on occasion.
Best shot since spring to catch the northern lights over Canada tonight!

I'm doing the Greenway on Saturday with a couple guys if you want to do one day long ride...
The Glebe, my neighbourhood in Ottawa, is not the sort of place one expects to see a cybertruck. This one was immediately ticketed by Ottawa bylaw, presumably for crimes against civility. A lady passing by called across the street to the bylaw officer, “Give it two tickets!”
Another good reason to track our rides. #yycbike
Motherfucking wind farms…
The Ont. government passed a measure that would protect it from lawsuits by cyclists injured on roads where the province tears out bike lanes.
