Happy First Contact Day to all my fellow Trekkies! Star Trek quickly went from being a show I knew very little about to one of my favorite series of all time. Its heart and hope for humanity is such a rarity is this world of cynicism and hate. IDIC, and LLAP all! π

Just a reminder of that time Gene Roddenberry said that he wished he had had gay sex, believed everyone was on some level bisexual, wanted LGBT rep on Trek & hoped he was βnot male or femaleβ, aka nonbinary in modern parlance. Anyways, tell me how Roddenberry would consider a gay Klingon bad?
But does he have a statue? π€
The amount of open homophobia and bigotry on Twitter over Starfleet Acadamy's cancellation has been insane. They don't even try to hide it anymore! Twisted 'fans' who have no understanding of what makes Trek so special. It's heart, empathy and hope that humanity can be better. π
A wise choice. It has been HELL. Like yeah, the typical people are gleeful as always, but the amount of open homophobia and bigotry has been insane. Like I know they are not 'actual' Trek fans but its still depressing.
Thank you for this post and helping ease some of the fears alot of us have had. I think like my other love Doctor Who, Trek will always survive no matter what happens. I just really hope RW Trek does not become a thing, would rather limbo then that but we shall see! LLAP and keep being awesome! π
Luna Thok looking cross
Paramount+! Revolting behaviour! 200 push-ups
future of that company. But at that point, whether Star Trek stays at Paramount or moves to another owner - who knows?
Star Trek will survive, and it will remain Star Trek.
Spock died and came back - anything is possible.
Keep the chins up - LLAP - Cerritos Strong :) 4/4
Such a shame. I loved S1 so much, am a bit fearful for what will come next under the new administration. Would rather see Trek retire then it become some sort of anti-woke wet dream.
Whilst it's not all that surprising given the behind the scenes stuff, I am real sad to see this. S1 was one of the strongest starts to a series Trek has had, with so much potential and a fantastic cast. At least we have 10 more episodes left, but its still a shame to see it end this way. #startrek
Now I am scared if we will actually get to see S2... π
To the bro Trekkies who went online to declare Starfleet Academy "not real Trek" because a Klingon was gay or whatever
I hope every time you vomit for the rest of your life, I hope it's all glitter.
My new baby in Star Trek Online, the R.R.W. Proletarian! Have loved this design ever since seeing it on Lower Decks! #startrek
Watching the final ep of Starfleet Acadamy S1! How is it already the final? I have really loved this show, probably my fav live-action New Trek show. Cannot wait for the next season! #startrek
Interesting how O'brien mentioned there has not been a situation like Bashir, aka a genetically enhanced Starfleet Officer, in over 100 years... I like to think the last one was Una Chin-Riley's case as seen in the best SNW ep "Ad Astra per Aspera"! #startrek #DS9
Today's random #startrek DS9 ep is "Doctor Bashir, I Presume" which I have been meaning to rewatch since the ep was referenced in #StarfleetAcademy. So cool seeing @robertpicardo.bsky.social on the DS9 set.
Now watching The Way of the Warrior Part I. This two-parter is one of the best #StarTrek stories. Garak alone makes it top tier!
Going to been a strange week as my Dad has gone into hospital for an op, so watching some #StarTrekDS9 specifically Sacrifice of Angels Pt2. I love this show so much! π
It's so sad how people use such extremes when 'attacking' shows. They act as if said show/writer personally is slapping THEM. The world is too hateful as it is, just accept that sometimes you can dislike things without calling it the worse thing to ever exist ect.
I like that every Trek series/era feels different and has its own vibe. Sure, I like some more then the others but they can all express things a little differently. So long as they share the same values then it's good, and honestly I think every Trek has managed that so far.
This man has more than earned credibility! :)
Thank you JΓΆrg and Stu for this!

Watching the Voyager episode 'Message in a Bottle'. Great episode, @robertpicardo.bsky.social is so much fun, always love when he gets to be the hero. He and Andy Dick make for a great double act! #startrek
Just watched "Predetor: Badlands". Really enjoyed it. Probably my second favorite Pred film now after Prey. I love that's its a new take on the Yautja, with a real fun story and themes. Need that sequel Dan Trachtenberg!
100%. Some cringe dialogue aside, it's ramping up to being my fav live-action New Trek series.
Oh man, this week's ep of #StarfleetAcademy was brilliant. Really shows how this show can do both low and high stakes. Shows how dark the show can get too. #startrek
Hey you know what?
I really like Star Trek. And Doctor Who. And Drag Race.
This is a hate free zone. Ya with me? :)
Doctor Who and Star Trek mean so much to me. Their messages of hope and belonging just keep getting more and more meaningful in this crazy world. Not that keen on Drag Race to be honest, but I understand why it means so much to fellow LGBTQ+ folk! π
Same! Love how it intwined old and new Trek in this great love letter.
Just watched the latest episode of #StarfleetAcademy and it was so good! A wonderful love letter to DS9, and a great showpiece for Sam as a character. I love how they interwine her story with that of The Sisko in a way even non-DS9 viewers will get. Loved it! #StarTrek
Ep 4 of Star Trek: Starfleet Acadamy was fantatsic. For any of the flaws the show has, this ep shows that its pure Star Trek through and through. What other series could build an ep around a debate stage, full of questions of ethics?
