I'm on Ep 3, and, man, what a personality shift there will be for Rom.
Right now, he seems like a pretty basic Ferengi, but we know that he eventually becomes our lovable doofus.

The episode was S4E26, "In Our Own Image."
A compilation from other episodes about robots but the frame story was pretty good.
Nana Visitor from #DS9 was excellent in it.

Just got through episode 5 of Star Trek Academy. I have my problems with the show, as I have for a lot of Trek since Discovery, but for this one, at least, I found myself very moved and missing some old friends.

This is meant to be american students vs. chinese students. so already, it's racist. But wait. White, red-headed teacher in in open, brown jacket: "Our 3rd graders are learning that men can have babies." Chinese teacher in buttoned red jacket: "Chinese 3rd gradres are learning multivariable calculus today. this will not end well for you."
Saw this propaganda. had a thought.
So why do #conservatives love #startrek so much? Well why wouldn't they? #ds9 had #GulDukat spell out pretty clearly that their society is a stand-in for so-called communist China when he described their educational system. That didn't come from a vacuum.

Sure, Garak chose Bashir to torment because he'd be so easily manipulated but, rewatching their first encounter, it sure seems like Garak has a crush on his new plaything.
I don't know if it was written that way, but it's great.
I love the chemisty between Robinson and Siddig.
