The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”

The prevailing mood here is generally extremely corny.
An official Sonic Halloween art cover by Nathalie Fourdraine (I think), featuring Team Dark (Shadow The Hedgehog, Rouge The Bat, and Omega) terrified while in a Sonic Heroes formation. With Vector The Crocodile holding on for dear life behind them.
I love these goobers. #SonicTheHedgehog #ShadowTheHedgehog
A photo of the Himalayan Monal. The bird is visible in profile. It is dazzlingly colored in shades of green, orange, and blue.
Meet the Himalayan Monal! 🌈 Males flaunt iridescent feathers to attract mates. Found in the Himalayas, this bird lives at altitudes up to 16,000 ft (4,877 m) in summer! It uses its hooked beak to forage for insects, seeds, and berries.

Peregrine. Fastest animal on the planet. Unerring deadly aim. Object of deification. Current mood.
Drawing some odd fellow with a fish. Possibly a fisherman.
It takes a fisherman to know a fisherman.
He probably did.
Only one way I know how.
'This person is disgusting and you shouldn't support them!'
Oh no! What'd they do?
'They draw PORN!'
Photo of my sketch of Sue the T. rex's skeleton in front of the Sue mount at The Field Museum in Chicago. I was sitting on the floor for a few hours working on this and it was so annoying because they have an informative light show that plays on the skeleton periodically and I wouldn't be able to make out details during this 5-6 minute sequence. Also my legs kept falling asleep! Someone was taking photos of me working on it, I wonder if those ever made it online. Anyways, its a really awesome museum
I met Sue the T. rex in real life 🥹
Two Mourning Doves at a bird feeder with a built-in camera. One dove is in profile, very close to the camera, and appears to be looking at it, and the other dove is further back, but also looks like it’s staring straight into the lens.
These two Mourning Doves at my feeder cam look like they just rang my doorbell because Tony Soprano sent them to collect a debt I owe.
Very happy that no one has spoiled the new Mummy yet.
Delighted they're managing to keep it under wraps

The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil.
It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.
