In Science this week we conducted an experiment to test which temperature of water ice would melt quickest in - cold, warm or hot? We have some excellent predictions and explanations and could explain why hot water melted ice the quickest. We then turned our results into a bar graph #DunipaceSTEM
As part of our World of Work day, we visited our Careers Fair! We spoke to lots of different professionals who work in different careers. It was so interesting to hear about everyoneβs jobs and what skills they need to do their job. Thank you to everyone who attended our Careers Fair! #DunipaceWOW
On Thursday, we celebrated the World of Work by having a Big Me Day. Primary 4 came to school dressed as what they want to be when they are older. We had a footballer, electrician, Bollywood pop star, dog sitter, Strictly pro, nursery teacher and a chef to name a few! #DunipaceWOW

Last week Primary 4 got to take part in a Generation Science workshop. We looked at acids and alkalis and how to test the pH level of different substances. We loved wearing our scientific gear, learned lots of cool facts and took part in several experiments π§ͺπ₯Ό
Primary 4 enjoyed our trip to Denny Library. We enjoyed listening to a story and completing a book scavenger hunt! Debbie the librarian also kindly showed us some books to do with our Victorian topic! We were so excited and got a class library card and checked some books out π
A couple of weeks ago, Primary 4 experienced Toastie Thursday. We loved getting to have a toastie, some treats and take part in a quiz! All teams were fantastic as there were some tricky questions in the quiz! Well done to our winning team βοΈ
To celebrate World Book Day, we dressed up as a word - we had cosy, star and riding to name a few! What a lovely day celebrating our love of reading! As part of our Reading Schools week, we took a trip to our school library to focus on storytelling. We spoke about the different genres of books and we checked out a book for us to read in class for some personal reading #DunipaceReading
As part of our writing, we are focusing on writing a persuasive letter. Last week we had a look at the different parts of a letter and looked at symbols to represent the different sections. We then tried to piece a letter back together using our knowledge of different sections #DunipaceWriting
Last week we started our new topic - the Victorians. We looked at some books all about the Victorians and came up with some great questions about what we want to know more about. The buzz in the classroom was so lovely with everyone chatting about what they could see π #DunipaceIDL

This week we have been developing our research skills. Our topic is Scotland this month, so we chose to research Robert Burns. We found lots of interesting facts about him, his life and his poems. We then used these facts to make posters, iMovies and books on Book Creator π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ #DunipaceIDL
For the next few weeks, our Friday art afternoons are focusing on Graffiti. We spoke about how graffiti makes us feel, where graffiti is allowed and then we had a look at some different examples. We had a go at making our own βtagsβ - making them bright and colourful. They look amazing! #DunipaceArt
In literacy this week we have been developing our skills in using a Thesaurus. Primary 4 thought this would be helpful in making our writing more interesting and detailed. We had a go at looking for some words in the thesaurus and talking about synonyms #DunipaceLiteracy

For Day 9 of our Advent Calendar, we made crispy cakes! Lots of fun was had, and there was some excellent teamwork, cooperation and turn taking. We ended the day by trying our crispy cakes - not a single one was left! π¨βπ³π©βπ³π§

Our life skill this month is Teamwork. We discussed what makes a good team and then we had to use our teamwork in practice. We had to make bridges using spaghetti and marshmallows. There was some fantastic cooperation and communication displayed. We then tested to see how strong our bridges were πππ»
Homework grids have been handed out today. These learning activities will run throughout November - December. New spelling words will be given out each Friday as well as a change of reading book if required. Reading books should be brought in on Tuesdays. Please send in pictures of completed work π
Primary 4 have been working very hard on handwriting since the start of the year. Today we moved onto learning about the third join and we used our new handwriting pens for the first time! We had to be super careful and take our time so we didnβt make a mistake #DunipaceLiteracy π
This week we have been learning all about Book Creator as part of our IDL topic. We recapped what we had already read in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and then made our own books about the story. We changed page colour, added pictures and text and some even added voice recordings! #DunipaceIDL
