A promotional flyer for an "Anti-Fascist Tailgate" protest featuring an orange fuzzy mascot resembling Gritty (the Philadelphia Flyers mascot) wearing boxing gloves and a sports jersey. The flyer announces a peaceful sidewalk protest on Saturday, March 22 from 5-7pm at Pattison Ave sidewalk between Broad St & S 11th St, across from the Tackle Statue. The event is described as giving a "real Philly welcome" to Trump who is coming to the NCAA wrestling championship. Additional information includes orange circular callouts about special events (including promoting a wrestling match between His Orangeness and OUR Orangeness, with the latter referring to Gritty), a QR code to rsvp for the event, parking/transit suggestions (definitely take transit!), and social media handle @5050Philadelphia.

In the truest sense and if we were to take a page from peripheral inflammation, Neuro inflammation needs to have multiple immune cell types participate. T/B/NK/PMNs/macrophages. Because microglia have an important role in CNS homeostasis activation could just be a response to dyshomeostasis

Can you add me? Thanks

What isn’t neuroinflammation - a single parameter of change (morphology or molecular). The bigger question for me is whether astrocyte changes without microglia changes qualify as inflammation. To me microglia are better indicators of inflammation

My research focuses on developing mechanism based treatments for pediatric traumatic brain injuries - from abusive head trauma in infants to sports concussions in teenagers. Mentoring up and coming scientists (future and current PhDs) with a focus on those underrepresented in STEM is my passion

I have over the past few days begun to use this platform more than the other one. Taking a page of others who have also done so, let me reintroduce myself. I’m a biochemist turned neuroscientist, an immigrant with a keen interest in reducing disparities and inequities in academia and healthcare.

I disagree with the premise of this op-ed. Much as we (as scientists) like to think we are “above the fray”, everything we do as scientists has a substantial political angle. From appointments to promotions to tenure at the university level to grant and manuscript reviews and even grant awards.

Just finished my talk at ABRCMS! Room was packed. But the better part was the Q&A - almost 2 dozen motivated students lined up. Glad to see the interest in pediatric TBI particularly in the racial inequities which was the topic of my talk. Thank you #ABRCMS for the opportunity
