Species dispersal through the raw water transfer invasion pathway - Biological Invasions Raw water transfers (RWTs) are a globally occurring freshwater invasion pathway. Recently, the need to better understand the risk posed by RWTs and develop effective pathway management strategies has ...

We directly investigated the raw water transfer invasion pathway and caught lots of taxa, including non-native species, being transferred in real time.

Can't wait to continue my field work this summer on Macrophyte Attached Zebra Mussels (MAZM). Macrophytes, though often overlooked as a substrate, are capable of supporting dense mussel populations. Featured below: Myriophyllum spicatum (image 1) and Potamogeton robbinsii (image 2).

We explore how climate change may affect introduction pathways of non-native species into protected areas including altering transportation routes, natural dispersal mechanisms & modifying human behaviors (forced migration and shifting travel destinations)

Yep raw water transfers may have serious implications for freshwater eDNA sampling. If huge water volumes are being moved between separate waterbodies, the likelihood of eDNA transference between sites is very high.

New paper! 'Integrated management of the raw water transfer invasion pathway'.

This paper shows the incredible scale of the pathway in England and Wales. Pathway stakeholders must support RWT information sharing.

At long last! I submitted my PhD thesis on the raw water transfer invasion pathway today. Feels odd to write a final conclusion to something I've been working on for nearly 4 years!

Made the move to Blue Sky! I'm a freshwater invasive species researcher specialising in pathways of spread. Particularly raw water transfers. Very interested in invasion pathway mechanics and management solutions.
