And the close date of March 2? That's for real. No extensions this year, just full transparency. Thanks to all who have already submitted!!!

The narrow failure of Senate Bill 686, the bill that would require fair compensation for Big Tech’s AI "plagiarism machine," is bad news for Oregonians. We’re proud of our coalition’s hard work and progress toward achieving a solution.
This week, per @spjoregon.bsky.social, Oregon Business took home four 2024 Northwest Excellence in Journalism Awards, which reward outstanding work from among hundreds of entries submitted by journalists in five states: oregonbusiness.com/oregon-busin...
So freaking excited the little paper that could comes through again! @eugeneweekly.com with 6 wins in the @spjoregon.bsky.social awards! So proud of all the folks who keep Eugene Weekly going and the @uosojc.bsky.social students who write professional stories with impact. www.spjoregon.com/contest
Congratulations to all the winners! I'm glad there are still so many great journalists in Oregon doing their thing.
A bunch of my pals won journalism awards for being very smart and excellent at journalism. Being a journalist is very hard as it is, being excellent at it has got to be like 5-10x harder at least. Great job being smart and excellent pals!
Our @oregoncapitalchronicle.com senior reporter @alexbaumhardt.bsky.social swept the investigative category in the five-state Northwest Excellence in Journalism contest and took second in hard news features for small outlets.
