Xinlisupreme is a band/artist I was enamored with years back, nice overlap of Shoegaze and noise (think the first Belong record maybe?), though recently they have been doing this hyper anime-hiphop thing -- one that still oddly meshes with their old style.

Lua Trilogy! is very new to me. They go mad on the samples and layering ... lots of WTF moments combined with bliss.

Music (?!)

I am not sure what the audience for this would be, but I have a current fascination with Xinlisupreme and Lua Trilogy!

Definitely on the noisy/overstimulation/saturation side of things.

Arguably, one of my favorite slices of music was the mid-to-late 90s output of the label Plug Research. So many ideas bumping around in that music.

Anyway, I suppose #sprints are my favorite "rock band" at the moment, and nicely fall outside my normal listening spectrum.

In that regard the #sprints concert was absolute fun, and sincerely was a wild and wonderful time.

SPRINTS is a band I would highly recommend -- on album and live and in interviews. They are so empathetic and thoughtful and compassionate -- and it runs deep into their music.

One things I appreciate about SPRINTS is that they seem to pull from so many sounds and emotions -- and in this regard, the concert I thought I wanted was not the show I attended.

Instead the #sprints concert was full of appreciation and joy.

Saw SPRINTS last night for the final show of their US tour.

I think going in I wanted a heavier, maybe more introspective and angsty show.

Various - Ghosts Of Christmas Past (Remake) View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the 2015 CD release of "Ghosts Of Christmas Past (Remake)" on Discogs.

This strange 1981+ album may be my favorite holiday album. It has 8 editions, all with variations, with the later version being from 2017.

I noticed a version on Bandcamp as well (which seems to have an extra song or two?)

Phantom Keys, by Nakibemebe Embaire Group & Naoyuki Uchida 4 track album

This is a pretty wild ride.

"A striking collision of East Africa’s trance-inducing polyrhythmic traditions and modernist dub practice... where Uganda’s Nakibembe Embaire Group shared the stage with Japanese live dub sorcerer Naoyuki Uchida"

The documentary's subtitles move fast and are tricky to follow though.

I am not going to link the documentary here, but I appreciated it because while it covers an artist I admire, it also goes into a bit of criticism that I find quite valid (around what I might think of as appropriation/exoticism). Also, the bit of non-Western perspective is interesting.

Some friends out there might appreciate this. There is a 15 minute documentary on Muslimgauze called "ELEKTRONİK İNTİFADA".

Digging the music of NKISI today. New to me, though what I have been listening to is a 1+ years old.

Also, I feel like I need to publicly admit I enjoyed a Viagra Boys song. I am not proud of this.

Coil - Restless Day
Coil - Restless Day YouTube video by br4in777

I am a day late, but yesterday was the passing of one of my favorite vocalists/musicians/artists: John Balance.

He died on November 13, 2004.

This song #RestlessDay is a personal favorite, it's simple and I think a little charming.

I think this one is very unique, and while not all #MakayaMcCraven 's output is for me (I still, after all these years, am warming to Jazz), this collection of music hits whatever vibe I need right now. <3

I love the upcoming #MakayaMcCraven work because there are some very nice production aspects (can feel almost collage like in moments) while also seemingly just snapshotting some amazing sessions of music.

The Beat Up, by Makaya McCraven from the album The People's Mixtape

A new piece from Makaya McCraven I have been really enjoying.

The upcoming album (collection of 4 EPs?) from drummer #MakayaMcCraven (and band) on @intlanthem.bsky.social is really, really nice.

This #MakayaMcCraven song "The Loneliness" is not super representative of his work I suppose -- I don't know, maybe it is (the song is from a reworked album)... but I love it.

#MakayaMcCraven will be in Seattle on 10/26.

Don't think I can make the show, as it is pinned right between a work trip and an important-decision appointment, but still tempting all the same. There is an early show, hmm.
