We need more support for nurses, AHPs and practitioner psychologists wanting to follow a clinical academic career, so it was great to join this event from @oxhealthbrc.bsky.social and to share my experiences of networking building and peer collaborations.

Sad to miss the gathering this year but I hope you all have an amazing time!
Fantastic news *just in* from @resetproject.bsky.social that a targeted prevention intervention delivered in schools in low socio-economic areas reduced psychopathology 1 year later - a moderate but robust effect with high acceptability & low attrition. Check out @thementalelf.bsky.social ⬇️for more!
Excited to be in London today to hear the results of the #ReSETMentalHealth targeted prevention trial in UK schools!

Is CBT equally effective across all mental disorders?
This unified meta-analysis looked at 375 RCTs & nearly 33,000 people with 11 different diagnoses.
Spoiler: it’s not a one-size-fits-all therapy. 🧠

Nicely summarised, thanks Ruth. It took a while with nearly 20 co-authors but we got there!
New paper!! Excited to share our new piece outlining an ECR perspective on children and young people's mental health research. We offer suggestions around funding, research practice, and institutional governance and processes to support a more socially just, equitable, and rigorous science.

I have some clinical experience of this: an autistic girl whose neurodiverse friendship group reportedly became 'obsessed' with role-playing therapist/patient at school and would also 'compete' over who was most 'mentally unwell'). But anecdotes don't=data; as ever, more research needed!

Ha I think you tagged the wrong Eleanor here ;-)
The perfect person to speak about this @lucyfoulkes.bsky.social is @marialoades.bsky.social who I think I recall recently ran a neat study that looked at exactly this issue.

Thank you so much Lucy, that would be wonderful 🙏
Lots of debate about the potential harms of universal school interventions but we've barely scratched the surface of considering what this might look like in low-resource settings where mental health support outside of schools may not exist. Anyone researching these issues, please do connect!
Lots more to ponder on this idea for sure! (Lucy, do you happen to have a contact email for the event please? The registration link on that page and in the programme is broken)
