Absolutely! I just like to complete checklists, so I have to remind myself that this one will never be done, and that's more than okay.

Think of your TBR as a menu instead of a checklist; that way, it's not a neverending to-do list, but something you can pick from and enjoy. #Reading

Haha, I was also excited to learn I could possibly have one! My partner and I are both allergic, and we are doing okay with our siberian forest cat.

I recently learned I'd been using the term "hypoallergenic wrong." I used to say "There's no such thing as a hypoallergenic cat." But hypoallergenic just means "less likely to cause allergies." The word I'm looking for is "nonallergenic." There is no such thing as a nonallergenic cat. Words.

Yesterday's cuddles were on top of the blanket. Today she discovered she could go underneath. 😆

Why do stakes matter in a story? There need to be consequences if your protagonist doesn't achieve their goal, so that readers have a reason to root for them. The consequences don't have to be life or death, but they should matter to the character! #Writing #WritingTip

I feel all smug when I realize I liked something BEFORE it became ultra popular, but it's really just luck that I read/watched it early, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with jumping on a bandwagon. ☺️

You will get an email from me shortly! Sometimes it takes us editors a few days to get all the emails in order.

Great question! I answered in a repost/thread.

novel, but it's a good start, and I'm always open to chatting over email about whether I'm the best choice for you or not. There's no harm in reaching out—we don't bite (except for @fromcarly.bsky.social, who is part vampire, but we don't hold it against her). 5/5

The nice thing about hiring #RevPit editors is that we have to do an editing test and be vetted by the board before joining, so there's an extra bit of security in knowing these editors are experienced and good at what they do. That doesn't necessarily mean they're the best FIT for your 4/5

6 days ago 15 0 4 0

So if you really connected with a #RevPit editor, liked how they conducted themselves on Bluesky and how they interacted with writers, then it's worth reaching out—even if you weren't on their shortlist. And you can always ask for a sample edit if you're unsure. 3/5

If you followed our submission guidelines and paid attention to our MSWLs (which all of the writers who subbed to me this year did—yay!), that means you're writing in genres and age categories that we absolutely love to work with. 2/5

I (and pretty sure I can speak for the other #RevPit editors here as well) would be happy to work with any of the writers who subbed to me. There are many reasons that go into picking shortlists, including how much we feel we can accomplish within the timeframe of the contest. 1/5

I want to clarify that #RevPit #10Queries is not the same as the top 10. Editors pick subs for 10Queries based on feedback that can benefit any writer. There may be overlap with top picks, but it's necessarily not a direct correlation. Several of my shortlist were not in my 10Queries and vice versa.

reminder: #RevPit editors are:
1. professional editors
2. sad we only got to pick 1 winner
3. open for work, yall.

the AC 1st place prize is a FREE full MS dev edit - but most of us offer discounts for all #RevPit participants & would be delighted to work with you on your amazing projects 💛 (1/2)
