I am also releasing a review of Trans Healthcare today: I think it's good. Five stars.

Lol a little disappointing? Though logistically a bassoon makes more sense if it did happen 😅
I'm sorry, that one lady who did what???
As my friend @drshepherd2013.bsky.social says, asking why we need a National Weather Service when we have apps and the Weather Channel is like asking why we need potato farmers when we can buy fries at McDonalds.
It's important to yell FUCK YOU! at the AI commercials on youtube. Not because it does anything to stop the AI company, but because it reinforces your internal locus of control, and it's important for us to feel empowered to tell tech companies to get absolutely fucked, you know?
For those of you who have noted that Substack is basically a Nazi Bar and you’re looking for a place to move your writing to, the info in this thread may be an option worth looking into.
Every day I wake up and check the news to see if it's The Big Day. I can't wait for The Big Day!!
The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights. SIGBI followed by a next arrow

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other
Photo of a small crab from NOAA’s social media. It’s covered in spikes
Just making sure that everyone is aware of this crab that NOAA scientists found
A photo of the U.S. Department of Labor Frances Perkins building, in Washington D.C. Black text reads, “The Sick Times. Now offline: Government resources about Long COVID as a disability. By Betsy Ladyzhets.”
“Regardless of Long COVID’s classification, if an individual meets the ADA’s definition of disability, is qualified for their job, and works for an eligible employer, they are entitled to workplace protections." - Karyn Bishof, founder and president of the COVID-19 Longhauler Advocacy Project
Several government resources about accommodations for people with #LongCOVID have become unavailable in the last week, following purges of government websites under the Trump administration.
However, people with Long COVID are still legally entitled to ADA accommodations. bit.ly/40XdQI9
my haters are scouring ancient texts for a rule that says i am not allowed to enjoy a little treat
they will find nothing
been eating a lot of groceries lately does anyone know if is this good for you?
A clam with a spring attached to the shell. The spring has a magnet placed above a sensor.
Hardly new info, but BSky should know:
Warsaw's water quality is monitored by eight clams with magnets attached to their shells. If contamination in the water causes the clams to close, the magnets trigger an alarm and shut off the city's water supply.
Thank you, little guardian molluscs.

A small weevil with large black eyes, a black snout, red thorax, and brown and tan elytra. It’s standing on a green leaf.
Here is a grape seed sized nugget of a weevil for #WeevilWednesday. This tiny friend was found on the underside of a large banana leaf. #inverts

Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that tapir Yuna gave birth to a rare and endangered Malayan tapir calf Sunday night. The newborn, covered in distinctive white spots and stripes resembling a fuzzy walking watermelon, is only the second tapir born in our 120-year history.
An orange and white moth cupped in my hand with its feet resting on my finger. It is looking toward the camera.
It’s dangerous to go alone, take this.

One of my favorite insects to find when I visit the neotropics is leaf-mimicking katydids from the Pterochrozinae subfamily. Not only they are convincing in their leaf mimicry, but many species like this Cycloptera also reveal beautiful fluorescent patterns in UV light!
As an Irish-American, this hits for me.
Off the back of this, let's start a #SciArt 🐡 train. Tell us a bit about the art you do and whether you take commissions, and link any kiskstartes, websites, patreon etc you have!

The image is digital art made up to look like a two color linocut print. It features a geometric twisting snarling tiger. It's flanked by the text "Stay Angry" and "Bite Back" that follows the contours of the tiger.
Life advice for the ages. Those doing wrong want you tired and hopeless. But stay angry. And when a chance is in front of you: bite back.
Digital plans for a real linocut. I'm anxiously awaiting a press to make this stuff possible with my RSI in my hands.

I went to the store to get a cucumber and they were all the same price but one was much bigger so of course I got that one. When I took it up to the cashier he said Dang and swung it like a baseball bat a few times. Now that's what I call Going to the Store.
