In these dark, sad, enraging times, we must turn to poetry, to music, to arts in all its manifestations. We must write and cook and dance all while imagining what is possible in radical hope. We must love as we fight, strategize, and organize. The world necessitates beauty and struggle. #resist

It's not just Iran whose surrender is being demanded. It's yours. Your hope. Your belief in yourself and our collective potential. Your empathy. They want to crush those things. They want you to believe their will is inevitable.
They want you to surrender.
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
Before playing Kamancheh, he says: 'Hello, I'm Mohammad-Reza Afarideh, the director of the ed. institute that has now been destroyed. I wanted the last sound coming from my institute not to be of missiles and war; (I want the) final sound to be of the instrument that I played in it. Thank you'.
Today is International Children’s Book Day, observed since 1967 on or around Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday, celebrating a love of reading and the power of children’s books.

Aging not like a fine wine but like a stone wall. Where I once was on a farm I now am a strange fixture in new england forests, I am crumbling but only a bit, and taking on a great deal of moss

Maryland is far from perfect, but it's things like this that make me really proud to live there.
“Rowling has made it abundantly clear that she thinks attacking transgender people via the legal system is a worthwhile cause and a good use of her vast personal fortune…there’s no way to watch this show without supporting Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting…”
Protest signs for no kings: - Banning books is the first step to banning people (with trans and trans inclusive pride flags) - No kings (with a crown in a no symbol) - it's giving small dictator energy (with a crown in a no symbol) - stand up fight back - Sorry I'm being weird it's my first dictatorship - the vibes are off (with 👀 emoji)
I had some caffeine and made some more signs to give away. (Bottom right is a custom sign for a friend)
No Kings. Find your event for this Saturday, March 28th.

#NoKings
I'm traveling, so I can't be at a #NoKings protest today. But I am so grateful for all the people who are able to show up and make it clear that so many of us are against the atrocities being perpetrated by the current administration.
Thank you so much! 💖💖💖

I feel so honored and grateful to have had one of my pieces selected for the Strathmore Arts "Steeped" exhibition, a wonderful celebration of all things tea. The opening reception was tonight and it was a lovely evening.

Trans rights readathon recommendations
Hello lovelies! I’m currently on a deadline, so this post is a double dip. “Happy Trans Rights Readathon! For those unfamiliar, the goal is to uplift/read/support trans, non-binary, 2Spirit, & gender expansive characters & author/illustrators as well as raise funds for trans causes. 1/
A person who justifies bombing school children has lost the right to make decisions for any group ever again. This is an easy litmus test. You accept bombing kids as an unavoidable outcome of your operations? Then no more leadership for you. That's it.
This is why I truly believe researching, checking and evaluating sources, branching out into teaching yourself about mundane and complex things is so important
They have such little else to take from us, they’re trying to make using your own intelligence harder and behind a paywall
Don’t let them
I don’t want 99% of the “advancements” being forced on and/or sold to me.
I want clean air, clean water, and a stable ecosystem and planet. I want free healthcare and education. I want justice and collective liberation.
So fun. I got 41/50, which seems solid?
Good morning to everyone except fellow white parents who,"don't talk to their younger kids about 'politics'." The manosphere didn't just spring fully formed out of some bigot's butt. Your looking away facilitates its growth. If you don't say something, someone will fill that void.
Oh, me too! Her illustrations are just amazing.
EVERYBODY CAN MAKE ART IT CAME FREE WITH YOUR HUMAN SPIRIT
Thanks! 😊 I buy the paper itself but then I paint or dye it myself. I use all different kinds of paper.

Just a tiny bit late for #kidlitartpostcard! I create paper collages by hand. I'd love to work on PBs and covers.

Hey everyone!
Huge news! Our trans girl scout list has sold a total of 146,000 boxes as of today!
But MANY trans girl scouts only have 20, 30, 40 boxes sold.
I just resorted our list to put those on the top.
Go get your girl scout cookies and make a trans kid's day!
Abolish ICE.
There’s no reforming it.
There’s no compromise.
There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.
Democratic leadership need to be waking up every morning with the singular goal of matching the energy of the heroes on the ground in Minnesota.
