There's something sadly funny about American viewership looking poorly on the use of the Puerto Rican Spanish during the halftime show.
"They should be performing in the language of their colonizers."
"Spanish IS the language of their colonizers."
"...Not those colonizers."
A black American Staffordshire Terrier lays with her graying muzzle scrunched up against the thigh of her person, whom she gazes at with sleepy, big, brown eyes. Her person's hand scratches her chest lovingly as she rests.
This will be my first full night at home that I won't be cuddling with this snoring lovebug. Trying to sleep will be weird, to say the very least.
Letting go of her was one of the hardest things I will ever do.
I love you forever, Lilo. ❤️

I think Chicago style hot dogs will be the death of me... but I love them so much.
March 7th, 2026 is about more than standing up for science...it's scientist standing up for DEMOCRACY!
Democracy cannot thrive when a paramilitary force being used against civilians, extremist ideology abounds, and science is censored and used against the public.

Make PEOPLE looking at resumes/job applications normal again.
I'm tired of not getting so much as an interview because of employers relying too heavily on AI.
I work hard. I'm smart. I am *absolutely* qualified. And I know I'm far from alone in this struggle.
My fourth ever #KindnessJournal, where I highlight two kind moments from the day, one observed and one of my own:
My own: I arranged for a family dinner at my great aunt's house, where company is wanted most.
Observed: I saw American protesters supporting Greenland as an ally, not a territory. ❤️
My third #KindnessJournal, where I highlight an act of kindness I did as well as one I observed.
My kindness: I gave someone information on their 4th and 5th amendment rights in the event they're approached by ICE.
Observed kindness: My dad put extra cheese on my pizza slices ❤️
Anyone who made the mistake of getting coffee with me on any given afternoon:
My second #KindnessJournal
Today, I showed kindness by reassuring my cat that the vacuum would not attack her. She remained wary but at ease.
Today, my partner bought me a delicious egg roll, which I enjoyed before I played another chapter in #Dispatch, a game my partner enjoys.

I had to do a double-take to make sure this wasn't a parody because this feels absolutely unreal.

Okay, to an audience of seemingly no one, here is my first #KindnessJournal:
Today, I shoveled and salted my grandmother's driveway so my mom wouldn't have to.
Today, my partner fed the pets their dinner so *I* wouldn't have to.
Thinking about making a kindness journal of sorts here on Blue Sky.
Each day, I share two things: An act of kindness I committed to and an act of kindness I observed from someone else.
I think I'll start my #KindnessJournal tonight.
There's this idea in our society that learning must occur in a structured setting, at scheduled times, with certain goals in mind.
It's my opinion that learning can- and should- be in practice as often as possible, wherever we can, with plenty of room for leisure and reflection.
It's a cultural flaw that marketing is catered towards convincing people to buy products and services *rather than* convincing people to learn and retain information, to engage curiosity, and to inspire community involvement.
That isn't to say it doesn't happen. It's just not the norm.
No individual is *bad* at learning. If someone fails to learn in their life, it's because others failed to teach them effectively.
If someone isn't receptive to the information you're trying to teach, you have to change how you teach.
Inspiration, passion, & emotion are key.
Education is the only way to maintain a self-sufficient, healthy human society.
A power strip. Behind it are two glowing eyes made of fire. The text reads: A fire is looming when you plug your space heater into a power strip. Power strips are not designed to handle the energy needs of space heaters. Always plug your space heater directly into a wall outlet.
Plug that space heater directly into a wall outlet, friends.
A dramatic black-and-white engraving in Gustave Doré’s richly detailed style. The scene shows a group of men clambering desperately down the crumbling exterior of an ivy-covered ruin, some dangling from ropes or vines, others scrambling across rocks and ledges. At the top of the composition, framed in a tall arched window, stands a looming, shadowy owl-like figure whose round, bright eyes shine eerily from the darkness within. The contrast between the frantic figures and the still, watchful creature creates a sense of uncanny menace in this overgrown, fairy-tale ruin.
"For beings more extraordinary than owls inhabited the old castle."
(E. H. Knatchbull-Hugessen "River Legends". Ill- Gustave Doré, London, 1875)

You know, for a guy who strongly supports drone warfare, Senator Todd Young is weirdly critical of Obama's previous leadership.
My wish for 2026 is the de-construction and complete shutdown of the internationally-based troll accounts on social media. Here in the states, we're feeling extra divided because India or Russsian businesses are fanning the flames, and most of us are too uneducated to even realize that fact.
large owl, talons clasped on what might be a branch or wires. Two stylized pylons in the background.. The owl is rendered in neon shades of orange, red, pink and purple. Pylons white in front of black. Mixed media, Maria Strutz and Phil Hine

A barn owl in front of a round portal from which an eye gazes. Is that a trace of blood by the owl's claws? A slightly uneven moon hangs overhead and finds its reflection in a medieval style city of silver, gold, ochre and rose colours. Diametrically opposite the seeing eye, and under the moon, a face rests

Painting in the style of a 19th century portrait of a girl and a pair of Great Horned Owls. The girl is wearing a dark red jacket and holding an owl’s feather in one hand. All three are staring at you with much the same expression.
