Cult Film Pioneer 🌟 John Waters
The cinema gods broke the mold when they created Waters - director, writer, actor - with Polyester ('81), Hairspray ('88), and Cry-Baby ('90).

Peter Bogdanovitch's feature directorial debut - with a little boost from Roger Corman - plus Boris Karloff. TARGETS (1968), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies
I watched that the other day and had a blast. Good silly fun.
I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"
I don’t care what the plot is, I would watch that film.
That bitch got called out by literally Superman??
The happiest of birthdays to Edgar Wright!
Happy 80th Birthday to the legendary Tim Curry! 🖤
1972. A bedridden girl draws a house, a ring of ancient stones… and walks into the picture. Escape into Night predates Children of the Stones by 5 years & is just as unsettling.

I haven’t seen that one yet! Waiting for it to come to streaming. I’ve been avoiding reviews and all I know is it’s sci fi and conspiracy, so, right in my wheelhouse! Lol.
Normal looks fun too, although that’s Wheatley as director for hire rather than the pure stuff.
I loved this.
I love everything Wheatley does, but this really resonated with me. Science and superstition as different exploiters of nature, the entire cast are great, it just really worked imo.
Happy Friday Freaky Flick Fans!
Here's the latest REEL OBSCURE, in which I discuss the 9-in-1 movie, THE DUNGEONMASTER!
Enjoy!

Amazon's latest is Balls Up, a reminder for men to buy up tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup where they definately won't be shot by ICE arriving at the airport. We hardly need another reason to hate the USA, but Peter Farrelly's raunchy comedy will do. 2 out of 5

An absolute classic and May is a genius.
Horror Express 1972
The poster for the 2025 film The Plague.
Last watched: The Plague (2025). A brutal drama about fitting in as you come of age set at water polo camp for teens, great performances from all of the young actors and Joel Edgerton, first time writer/director Charlie Polinger is one to watch.
Recommended.
Damn that’s a great poster.
Never seen that one before, just the “shotgun coming out of the water” poster. The one you’ve got there is far better.
Not epileptic so don't wanna speak over them but as a disabled person I've never felt so seen r.e. the disconnect I feel in an ableist society. Wish the kid was more centered than his folks but it feels his voice was a large part of the making
Of course the LB reviews are tearing this one apart lol

Best death that ever deathed
A great episode of a great show. The later seasons of DS9 are as good as Trek got imo.
Oh gosh, Comin’ At Ya! Memory unlocked! Lol. Yeah, that was particularly bad. Bless Tony Anthony for his weird career tho.
This was good fun.
The early 80s 3-D craze was terrific fun in general. Not good especially, but things suddenly being thrown straight at the camera is hilarious.
I have an enduring soft spot for cheapo Indiana Jones rip off The Treasure of the Four Crowns, flimsy but full of goofy trickery.
The poster for the 2025 film Dust Bunny
Really enjoyed Bryan Fuller’s Dust Bunny (2025). A gloriously silly and supremely stylish action horror fairytale, Mikkelson is great, as are Dastmalchian and Weaver, just terrific fun.
If I had a wish? Please let Bryan Fuller make more movies.

Dr. Hess Green (Duane Jones) is up in the attic of his mansion, on a mattress drinking very vital red fluid from a glass.
