Keir Starmer is appointing a former Sun editor to a top government comms role, while watering down the Hillsborough Law.
Bootlicking the Murdoch press, betraying the people of Liverpool and insulting every campaigner for justice.

Your boys are taking one hell of a beating.
Labour, you’re next: yourparty.uk
I received hundreds of emails from those affected or fearing #UniversalCredit cuts, collective testament to the fact that disabled people are not feeling, as Sir Keir Starmer said he wanted, "secure and supported", but the opposite

🔴‘MPs and the Media Cast Benefit-Claimants as Freeloaders – This Discrimination Is What Keeps Them Out of Work’
The media has gone on the attack after the welfare U-Turn, but they’re not telling the real story, argues Mathilda Mallinson

Liz Kendall, the work and pensions secretary, says the culture of work in Britain must change as spending on disability benefits soars
Why the new disability benefits concessions don’t make sense, and why the Bill must still be opposed, explained in under 90 seconds:

One of my son- in- laws is disabled (due to a 🚘 accident) and has had to retire early. Fortunately he has a good pension, so they should survive (otherwise the family -3 kids- would be in peril)
He said he is DISGUSTED at what Labour are doing to disabled ppl.
Raids on workplaces? Forcing employers to act as immigration officials?
Theresa May's hostile environment never went away, and Labour are every bit as bad as, or worse than the Tories
UK Govt to cut benefit spending by more than £5bn a year by 2029/30. Poor/Disabled hit.
Silence on corporate welfare, ending tax perks of the rich.
Aligning tax on dividends and capital gains with wages, and charging national insurance on the same can create £20bn surplus.
Why hurt the poor?
“Some of the decisions that have been made, if you closed your eyes, you would not think it was a Labour government making them.”
🔴‘No-One Voted for These Cruel Cuts – We Need a Wealth Tax Instead’
Keir Starmer must change course from this performative cruelty towards the sick and disabled, argues Neal Lawson

I have helped a number of friends & family apply for PIP
Initially everyone had their application declined. On appeal I managed to get everyone some component payment
Not one achieved maximum benefit even though I felt some qualified
Getting PIP is not easy despite what Kendall claims
What do you call a sudden change of principles when you actually get into a position to change something?
“The majority of people who are forced to come to our food banks are disabled.. there is an incredible level of hardship out there & we are appalled the government looks at that situation & appears to be deciding to make huge cuts to the support people get"
Helen Barnard @trusselluk.bsky.social
UK Chancellor urged not to make PIP cuts that could plunge 700,000 households into poverty.
It is war on the poor, not causes of poverty.
Median annual pre-tax wage £29,604.
38% of Universal credit claimants are in work.
16m live in poverty.
Lack of healthcare, disabling many
MPs will have blood on their hands if the proposals are like anything that we are hearing. When disabled organisations, benefits claimants, carers and health professionals are ALL warning you this would increase death and disadvantage, listen. Change cannot mean worse
When someone becomes disabled or chronically ill, people will twist themselves into knots finding a way to blame them. They need to find fault so they don’t have to face the randomness of life.
The truth is, anyone can become disabled at any time.
Good health is not a guarantee.
Prime Minister backs disability benefit cuts bit.ly/3XGUkOZ as Labour discovers that taking money off millions on low incomes is easier than taking it from the better off.
Neoliberal achievements.
Higher homelessness, food insecurity, malnutrition, lack of good food/housing, fuel poverty, sewage in rivers, crumbling schools.
Underfunded NHS can't provide timely care.
Corporations making record profits. Rich got richer in a corrupt political system.
The language of being 'economically inactive' used by Labour belies where the real 'inaction' resides, which is is for Reeves and Starmer to stop their bullshit and tax the fucking wealth hoarders.

James Schneider on #GMB: "I think you're viewers are quite right, money can always be found for war and weapons when we're told there's no money for things which are going to make life easier for us and our families and our communities"
Rachel Reeves plans more austerity, including cuts to social security benefits and cuts to civil service jobs.
So exactly the same as the Tories were proposing pre-election? Meet the new boss ...

The United Nations just called out the UK’s #disability benefits system. PIP & ESA don’t cover basic costs. Disabled people are being pushed into poverty by welfare cuts. The government must fix this and stop treating disabled people as morally suspicious: tinyurl.com/2fxmr3cn
Some on benefits are 'taking the mickey', says UK minister.
Some may do so, millions do not but will be victimised by cuts.
What about those abusing the tax system, govt procurement, buying honours, impoverishing people with profiteering, selling dud products, crashing companies?
This is shameful 😥
Deporting people won't make your life better.
Only redistribution of wealth will.
Why are Labour joining in the hate game?
