Reflecting on Holy Week: all services up in numbers, especially younger people, and lots of conversations with folks finding themselves deeply and surprisingly moved.

Something is stirring — deep calling out to deep, in the midst of the chaos and violence of our world. ❤️‍🔥🙏

The happiest of Easters from the best of boys.

He’s very happy his mums made it through Holy Week in one, tired, joyful piece. ❤️‍🔥

‘Oh, hi Molly! We’re just talking about the side wound.’

So seen. ✨

I would like to suggest that, instead, we go back to the custom of electing kids as bishops on Holy Innocents Day, and then keep them. They would do a great job, and they’re very good at telling the truth.

Very best,

Dear all,

Today is an absolutely wild day to be autistic, and thus prone to taking things deadly seriously and panicking, rather than rolling our eyes and laughing at supposedly comedic forms of deception.

Saturday night in the Rectory: trying to tell pillow cases and amices apart in the ironing pile.

Bit niche? #ClergyCoupleLife

Just had the most excellent of PCC meetings: big-hearted, creative, deep-thinking, compassionate and mutually supportive.

I could almost hear God going, ‘YES’. This is church. Humble, missional, holy and good. ♥️✨

An amazing privilege to ash, to bury, to pray, to break bread and break open the redeeming love of God, this first Ash Wednesday as a Priest.

This morning, one of my primary school worship teams (made up of excellent 10-year-olds):

1. Applauded when I arrived at school
2. Initiated a spontaneous post-assembly dance party in the school hall
3. Had no idea how much I needed the joy provided by items 1 and 2 🥹

Very happy little priest here after a gorgeous Eucharist for the Baptism of Christ, ft. plenty of holy water and a plough blessing. ✨

Today I have recorded a radio programme and written two academic conference paper proposals. First time dipping back into academia for a couple of years. Eek!

A good study day ✨💪🕊️

Grace Petrie’s fantastic band on stage in Stroud.

Bopping our way through a stunning Grace Petrie gig was a brilliant way to a) mark a year civilly partnered to my beloved and b) reignite the fire to work for justice and love in this broken world.

Thanks, Grace and co., from the queer priest contingent. 🌈💪

Fantastic visits to two of our church schools this morning, talking about trust, play and listening.

Our fantastic teachers and children are so engaging, inspiring and kind.

Why not put the ‘fest’ into ‘festive’ by giving someone a ticket to next year’s Greenbelt? An adult aged 18-25 costs just £15 per month if you buy in December. A student ticket’s just £13 per month. If you’re lucky enough to be able to think big, then this Christmas - why not buy someone a festival?
