But we know from the Omnibus 1 process that Commissioner Dombrovskis and his cabinet are the forces manufacturing the urgency and pushing to scrap safeguards outside of process. They cannot and should not be allowed to rubber stamps their own assault on the democratic process.

Under this, he would now validate derogations from carrying out impact assessments, stakeholder consultations and from the 'evaluate first' principle, therefore handpicking his own criteria for urgency

But more concerning is that the Commission outlines a process that will turn Commissioner Dombrovskis into judge and jury for deletion of social and environmental protections.

The Commission once again claims that "an urgency" demanded they reopened the EU due diligence directive (CS3D) and that its policy objectives were preserved in the process: both are false.
